These are the most convenient, most flexible and brightest extension lamps ever owned. I had worn out about half a dozen of the cheap ones which were bulky and balky with poor optics. This lamp is sleek and glides with a touch. The optics are excellent. The extension distance is farther than any other I have had. It folds up on itself taking up minimal desk space. The clamping mechanism is sturdy with no slop in the lamp post mount. I suggest placing a square of hardwood between the clamp screw head and the underside of the table if it is made of a soft wood such as pine. One nice touch not found in the description is an elastic microfiber lamp head cover. Sure is better than the ziplocs I have used.

I bought this to replace an older lamp with a circular fluorescent. Luxo is absurdly expensive, but after using it for a year I have to say it's worth the money if you can afford it. The illumination is excellent and the magnifier is clear. It's light in weight which makes it easy to handle. The articulated joints hold their position well. I use it all the time and highly recommend it.

This magnifier is pricey, but it is the real deal. The lens is clear and minimally distorted even with the relatively strong magnification. The lamp controls take some getting used to, but the light is strong and well-distributed. The arm works smoothly, and holds the magnifier where you put it. The product is a pleasure to use compared to the cheap models from other manufacturers. If you use these things regularly, I recommend paying up for the real thing, and this is it.

This is the most amazing desktop lamp I've ever used. It may seem expensive, but it's worth every penny. Ever fight with your spring-loaded desk lamp? This amazing lamp will stay exactly where you put it. Grab it with your hand, move it anywhere and it stays right where you let go of it. No wobble, no messing around, no lost time.

I have 3 other cheap illuminated magnifiers I used on garage workbenches, with exposed springs that always weaken over time requiring frequent adjustments. The Luxo is streamlined and beautiful. Moves with precision and accuracy, bright light, clear magnifying with no distortion. Expensive but worth it to me.

Smooth operation, good optics, good reach. Table clamp could be a bit more heavy duty. I use this for fly tying.

This was a replacement light for a physicians office and is has turned out to be better than we had hoped.
