Hi-LiftJack HL-604 60" Cast/Steel Jack

I normally wait until I use something a lot before I do a review. This works as stated and I did bend two of these because I overloaded 1 of them and the other, I let the load shift to the side. Under normal use without abuse it is a very good product and I just purchased another one.

Maybe even a little less than the one at Harbor Freight and seems a heckuva lot better made.

I purchased the Hi-Lift for self-rescue when off-roading in my Jeep JKU. The 42" version of the Hi-Lift came wrapped but not boxed and was complete with no missing or broken parts.It operated correctly and was exactly as described.It was easy to lift one corner of the Jeep JKU.After inspecting my Jeep Wrangler JKU, I did discover there are NO reachable lift points on the stock front or rear stock bumpers nor along the stock sides that the Hi-Lift could reach with its short 4.5-inch mouth. The Hi-Lift jack lift surface is only 4.5" long, so it requires steel after-market bumpers. In order to use it with a stock Jeep, the accessory LM-100 Lift-Mate is required, which provides hooks to attach to the wheel to lift the wheel directly.We were concerned that the portion of the jack head that is against the tire might pop the bead of the tire and we saw the tire deflect quite a bit but it did not. Still before using we would probably over-inflate the tire to reduce the risk of popping the bead.

No complaints but have only used it once for familiarity.

The product is what it is. There was no packaging when this was delivered on a rainy day. There was a paper label and the instructions were taped to the jack which left adhesive for me to have to clean off.

I used this to jack up girders on my footbridge to install falseworks under it so as to enable restoration. I do have a porta-power here, but it has a limited travel range, and I needed about 7 1/2 feet to get under the girder .. 2x12 Doug fir x 20'. If you take off the pulling adapter at the top, you will be able to slip a length of 2" EMT over the stem of the jack .. in my case, 5 feet was about perfect. I ground a 2" deep trapazoid out of the upper end to nicely grip the bottom of the 2x12. This adaptation worked so splendidly well, I thought I should share my falseworks installation solution, as yet another use for this equipment. I had bought one from HF maybe 25 years ago and as I recall, couldn't get it to work. This puppy works like a charm. I do wish that the direction lever was easier to operate, but that's just the nature of the beast I guess. The base did find it's purchase in the creekbed easily enough, and the lifting went quite smoothly. 2" schedule 40 may work, but the EMT is considerally cheaper, and I didn't need that degree of strength (compression). Take your jack to the building supply and try before you buy (the EMT or pipe). If the pipe is even slightly bent you won't get a slip fit. Cheers!

This jack is built to handle any of your jacking needs. Heavy duty and heavy too. Not meant for the the meek. This thing will pull a weathered metal t-post out of the ground like it wasn’t there. Switching from up to down can be tricky if you’re alone, but it’s that way too handle things. Great jack.

Ordered the 42" for my Can-Am x3. Had to remove the winch loop from the top to fit my mounting spot but otherwise, it's a perfect fit. Jack came in perfect shape, no scratches or bent parts. Make sure you lube it up before you take it out on the trails!
