My Friends (Taro Gomi) Board book – Picture Book, July 7, 2005

My Friends by Taro Gomi is a beautifully illustrated book about learning simple skills...with a little help from your friends. And in this story, all creatures (from the tiniest ant to the teachers at school) are your friends. My daughter loves this book, reciting page after page which friend teaches her what task. The overall message of this book is that a child can learn something from everyone and everything.The artwork is delightful: colorful, simple, and crisp. The language sounds lyrical, even poetic, as you read it aloud. This book will capture the imagination of your child. Whenever we read it, my daughter gives me different examples of who has taught her what. It is a great conversation starter!I recommend this engaging book for all toddlers, beginning readers, or anyone who enjoys a sweet story.

Marvelous, wonderful, inimitable Taro Gomi! This book is a classic and one of my go-to gifts for 2-4 year olds; inspires and imparts the beauty of friendship and the endless, playful growth and expansion it instills in us, the pure, humble and unfettered joy of learning and the interconnectedness of all things. A must-have which should be in every child's library! I dare you not to get misty-eyed at the end. Taro Gomi is pure magic.

I love this book! Teaches kids the value of learning from and observing animals and other people. Very simple, but quite touching.

I have been teaching Spanish to my children and this is a very sweet book for littler ones and has been great for teaching action verbs as well as other vocabulary. We have really enjoyed it and my 2yo often asks to read "migos."

We've really enjoyed this addition to our bookshelf- the story is sweet and simple, with repetition that is great for expanding vocabularies. The artwork, though, is really what shines.

My son absolutely loves this book. When own several books by Taro Gomi and they definitely don't disappoint. The illustrations are cute and the words are short and sweet. My son loves to point out and name the animals and objects in the book. Every time we read the book, he points out new objects. Its a great way to teach him the names of objects and animals. I have since bought several copies of this book for friends and family and they have always been well received and loved. The most recent gift was raved about at the gift opening. Another parent that we had given the book to raved about how much they and their daughter love the book. I would highly recommend My Friend as well as any other title by Taro Gomi!

Hands down my favorite board book. This is a sweet story with wonderful illustrations. Both of my little ones loved it from the time they were babies. I have given this book as a gift to expectant mothers many times.
