Denon AVR-X1600H AV Receiver

This replaced a Philip's "Surround Sound On Demand" system that went faulty. I went back to hard-wired as I'd lost faith in wireless. The difference is amazing.Sounds great, and whilst it's undeniably big, it's subtle enough under the TV, and looks quite smart.The manual (not supplied - you have to download it) is 280 pages, all in English, so I'm still learning how to use it, and get the best out of it. I've only got it wired as 5.1, but can't fault the effect.That it works with Alexa is a bonus, but the amount of control is limited, and asking Alexa to play any BBC radio station, plays BBC Radio Cymru. (It's not me; if I ask the Dot directly it plays the right station).I've knocked one star off because it shouldn't take a week (and counting) to figure out how to use it. Perhaps it's me.

I have had a number of Denon receivers in the US. We have just moved from the US and with new UK tv and bluray player I did not want to use my old receiver with a large step down transformers. I bought this Denon based on past performance of the brand name. It is absolutely the right piece of equipment to be at the hub of my home theater system. Connection and set up was easy and my surround sound using speakers bought from thecUS and hooked up to thus Denon sounds fantastic.sounds fantastic. I would not buy any other make of receiver.

This AV receiver gives so much and the sound is cool. Good price and features. The ap could be better though! Great buy.

The one thing I'm disappointed about is the monitor interface... it ONLY displays the baseband video inputs and nothing is displayed for any HDMI sources - basically a close to useless interface. I was expecting this would allow me to connect a small monitor to show a low res version of what the projector shows - NOPE !

I just bought this Denon AVR-X1600H to replace my Sony STRDH790. What a huge difference! The AVR-X1600H has a much nicer UI to start with and the Audyssey calibration feels more accurate and thorough when it comes to mapping out speaker setups. The display screen on the front of the receiver shows more information compared to the Sony too. The Denon cost an extra 100 bucks but the extra quality definitely shows. My speakers sound better now. Would definitely recommend the Denon AVR-X1600H to anyone with a TV that has an eARC connection.

If you have a earc compatible TV then for the price this is amazing, yes the style of the remote and receiver is rather old fashioned I didn't care about that. Provides Dolby Atmos, 5.1.2 or just 7.1 honestly no complaints at all love having it, and using earc on my lg oled c9 is as easy as it should be. Great product

Upgraded from Denon 1312. Huge difference in-terms of features. Easy to setup and supports Atmos. Wi-fi and Ethernet connections. Great sound as always from Denon. Front display could do an upgrade though to keep with time. However you can always use the app to control the features. App interface could be better. Two zones available but have not tried it. Two subwoofer outputs available.

Amazing product. If you appreciate great sound and love to enhance your movie night this is perfect. Some tips.. watching David Attenborough programmes is amazing the background noise and the detail to sound is superb and fantastic beasts and where to find them will certainly test any subwoofer. Enjoy.
