A good moral tale

I grew up reading "Petunia's Christmas" during the holiday season. I just recently learned that there were other books about the silly goose, so I ordered this one. This is the original in the series, introducing Petunia and the other animals on her farm. In it, Petunia learns a sweet lesson about the power of books and the importance of reading. It's cute, in classic minimal colors with a cheerful cast of characters.

I was so happy to find this book for I have a new baby and I remembered it from my childhood. I ordered myself a copy for my son and one for my mother for her birthday/mother's day. For this book gave me do many memories of my mother reading it to me. It came quickly after ordering and was in perfect condition now I get to read it to my little one and it made my mom feel so special.

Has a good lesson. Just because you own a book doesn’t mean you’ve learned it’s wisdom. Pretending to be smart got her in trouble until she actually read the book.

What a fun book. Illustrations are funny, story is charming. A little long for the younger ones but our family loves it.

I am 64-years old and fondly remember this as my first book - I must have been about five years old. It sparked my life-long enthusiasm for reading. I bought this updated version to be able to hold a precious part of my childhood. I'm still smiling!A quick word about the packaging. I don't know how the book made it to my house without damage. It was left loose in the box, no padding whatsoever, and the tape holding the box together had only been dampened on the ends. So the ends were stuck by the length of the box was left flapping and loose. Come on, Amazon. You've got a trillion dollars in your coffers - let's allow the packers to use a dab of water on the tape, eh?

Petunia eventually learns that you have to read the book to be wise, not just possess it. Even adults have shelves of unread works, so the message is universal. The illustrations are simple and effective and there is just the right amount of text for bedtime.

Le livre est super, je l'ai acheté parce que j suis trés fan de cet illustrateur, français en origine, mais malheuresement le livre est en anglais et je n'ai pas vu ça avant...
