Fitted easy and solved my under speed reading of 10%
My 1999 TJ Wrangler speedo was under reporting actual speed by 10% (checked from two apps and other cars), due to taller/higher wheel (rim and tyre) dimensions 245/75R17 (two inch lift). Used an online calculation based on new tyres and wheels and differential (3.73), ordered a replacment cog with 33 teeth. During removal of the old drive gear, discovered the OEM was 36 teeth which was installed for smaller dimension wheels (215/75R15).Result, perfect! Now my speedo is exactly reporting the correct speed (within what I estimate to be 1-2% at 100 km/h.Purchased and installed a new rubber O-ring and everything was completed in less than 15 minutes with the right tools.

Speedo gear.
Works as advertised. Easy install. I measured the height of the tire not the advertised tire size. 33X12.5X15. The tire is not 33 inches tall.

Not for a Rubicon
I have a 2004 rubicon. Which this will not fit. But I have used these before on non rubicon models and work great.

Don't buy it used from Amazon Warehouse
I had this part in my inventory on a Jeep build. When it came time to put the transfer case back together I went to install and found it was pretty much shredded. All the gear teeth were torn-up. It was of course after the return deadline and I had not inspected it prior to installation. It appears that it was returned because someone didn't know how to install it properly, or tried an incorrect application before returning it. I have no complaint about the product itself, but the "like new" description was far from accurate.

It does what it's supposed to do.
Works well on my '00 XJ with 3.55 and 30s. Took out housing, replaced o-ring with new dealer o-ring while I was there, pulled out old gear, clicked in new gear, reinstalled and went on with life. Made just as well as original gear I took out it seems; time will tell. My speedometer is right on +/-1mph versus my GPS.

perfect fit. Installed on a 1997 Jeep Wrangler SE ...
Just received it and installed it right away (took about 10 minutes), perfect fit. Installed on a 1997 Jeep Wrangler SE w/auto transmission, 3.73 gearing, 31" tires. The original was 37 teeth, and the odo/speedo was notoriously off by 12.5%, confirmed with GPS. The 33 teeth gear corrected that and now it's pot on. Just a sidenote, it seem to impact the transmission performance too, now it's correctly downshifts going uphill, before it had to be manually downshifted to keep up. So it killed 3 birds with one stone.

was a breeze to change and my speedometer still works ...
was a breeze to change and my speedometer still works (1mph off at around 70mph). I used this on a 99XJ with Cooper 30x9.5 tires.
