Best Grabber
I had a grabber that hinged in the middle but it was a complete bad joke.It was the"As seen on TV" type. It wouldn't pick up anything that was more than a few ounces & it was very clumsy at grabbing small things. Finally it just broke in the middle when I tried to get a can off the shelf. I also had a device that had one rigid arm with a curved moving arm to form the pick-up end. They gave this one to me at the hospital when I had my stroke. Since then I found this one seems to be listed in all the handicapped web sites. It also had VERY limited use. After many months of dropping things or not being able to use what I had at all for the task, I finally just got on Amazon & typed in "Grabber" & found the "Pikstick" I wasn't too sure about it being mostly plastic but now that I've had it awhile & used it a lot I can say that this is GOOD plastic. And, the soft tips DO give it the ability to grasp very small itims if needed. The main shank is aluminum tubing so it's NOT going to break in the middle like my old one. I've found out that the ability to rotate the gripping end 90 degrees is very useful. Just pull the grip out a little to disengage, rotate, & let it snap back in & it's ready to go. Really, I love this thing & so far, I've only just touched the usefulness of this grabber. I'll be getting at least another one so I'll have one in more than one place. I'm not connected with Amazon or Pikstik in any way. I'm just writing this review to maybe steer anyone looking for a good grabber this way. It costs more than most but this one is worth the extra money by far...

I love it!!
Had been using another brand and they kept breaking. I sent them back for refund as per their warranty, and the quality didn't improve. The Pikstik is shorter, but from my wheelchair it is great. The prongs are strong, and wider to get larger cans from the pantry. Seems to be very balanced weight and easy handle. I have only had it a couple of weeks so things may change later, but right now it am very, very happy.

Not Worth It!
I have been using it for the last month since my back surgery and I find that this product is not worth it. Here's what you can't pick up: coffee cup (empty), drinking glass, water bottle, daily newspaper, forget the sunday addition to name just a few. The plastic tips do not come together at the front. Spend a few dollars more and get one that works!

It picks up anything
The Pikstik is a wonderful assistant to those of us who cannot bend all the way down to pick things up. I have four Pikstiks in various lengths and they all have come in handy at on time or another. The Pikstik is able to pick up anything from a flat piece of paper to a dime. I have not used the rotating head. Perhaps it's for getting things off high shelves which I do not have to do.

Wont hold anything when trying to pick it up
These pick up pikstiks don't have anything on the inside of the pincers so it won't hold anything when trying to pick it up. My husband put a screw on each side for something to grab and hold and it works much better.

Got my $ worth
These things are used so much around out house that they will more than pay for themselves. Easy to use, versatile and fun. Doesn't get any better than that.

Very handy
This is a very useful item if you have limited mobility to reach or pick up items. Well made and not flimsy like some I have seen.
