This is a great item if you need to take many frames without changing batteries
This item is great for taking many frames and specifically for items presented on a light table without rearranging the camera and replacing the battery. I am very glad I purchased this product, despite its price.

Good product
Using it for DIY external battery. Connected it to a step-up cable so I can use a 5V battery. Works great!

Overpriced but works as expected
It works as expected. But for what it is, this is just a money grab for Canon.I need to be able to connect my camera to an external 12V lithium battery for when I'm not near any power source other than a DIY portable battery box. I like that this is just a DC connector and this is sole reason I purchased it, but this is extremely expensive for what it is IMO. It should come with the AC adapter for this price. Also, if you are looking to do the same setup I have, make sure you use an appropriately sized step down converter and fuse so you do not burn out the electronics of your camera. You will also need to find the correct connector. Canon uses a proprietary connector for this device, probably since the camera I have runs on around 7.5V and can draw up to around 3A, so you cannot hook it up to any DC/AC convertor you have laying around the house.
