Very good value for the product. The quality is more than okay as we purchase these as a business to use in customer's homes. There are used in filter canisters to remove any sediment from the water down to the size of 5 microns plus it removes smell and chlorine from the water. This means if you have well water and there is sand coming through - this filter cartridge will catch that. Also it is good for sulfur smell for well water and chlorine taste in city water.The down side is each filter is small. We actually install carbon systems that are maybe 40 times the size of one of these filters. So if your water is very bad then the capacity of one of these can be used very quickly - maybe as early as 1 month. The carbon in this will reach capacity based on the amount of water passing through it and the amount of contaminants in that water. So every situation can potentially be different.

These filters are great! Houston tap water is disgusting with high levels of chlorine, chloramine and full of all the other byproduct compounds. I installed a 5 stage reverse osmosis system that helped, but the water still tasted too bad to drink. I replaced the first cheap granulated carbon stage with one of these Purenex block filters and WOW, I have perfect tasting water now. Yes, there was carbon dust in the bottom of each filter. Just flush them first. I bought some extra 1/4" tubing and diverted the first few gallons into a bucket before putting it inline with the rest of the RO system.

I have been using carbon filters for years to remove the chlorine from drinking water. Depending on volume of use chlorine begins to be noticeable after 4 to 6 months. But this brand seems to be lacking carbon because they do nothing to remove chlorine nearly as well as the Purenex brand did. I suspect this brand is a scam. It's been 5 months now and burned through half a case already. With only one person and a dog in the house, these filters are lasting less then a month before that tap water taste comes back.

These filters are terrible. We have flushed 30+ gallons of water through two and they are still sloughing carbon particles. They also put off a terrible taste. We are going to try and continue flushing the filters in the hopes they clear up. What a waste of the filters capacity and water. I would NEVER buy these again. If we had not ordered these so long ago they would be returned immediately. Do your self a favor and look elsewhere.

I was one of the many who lived with the poisoned WV American Water. This product helped to block the chemicals from entering my house. Some of the chemical still made its way in but not the large particles. Our tested water was much lower than others. This product aided in the prevention of contamination to my new $2700 frige water system. Our city water, like most cities, is dirty and tastes horrible. These filters work very well, visibly remove products from the water and improve the quality significantly

These things last about 2x longer than generic store bought ones that came with my unit when the builder installed it. I get about 8 weeks out of these vs the 4 of the old one.This box will last me about a year and for the price I'm super happy. They REALLY take the smell out of the water that I have due to the chlorine.

No such company exists as Aquaboon in the NSF database, so, basically useless and a waste of money.
