Light and smaller, but didn't last and was always dead
it was fine as long as you kept the charger on all the time with the "store" position on. But if it got unplugged, the battery would be dead shortly after if you didn't ride. And then if the voltage is too low, the charger won't charge it unless you hook up a regular charger up to it for a couple minutes first. A year later and it was shot. Picked up a regular wet cell for $50, works much better.

Big power, small package
Longevity…..well, I can’t say for this one, or really any of the other Shorais I have because the oldest one I have is 4 years old….at least, that’s how long I’ve had it.The battery this particular Shorai replaced was a no name AGM I got on Amazon in 2013. Yep. 8 years is a relatively long life span. From what I’ve read of other’s experiences, this should last at least as long.Value for money. It isn’t much more expensive than a brand name AGM and actually less than some well established brands. Thing is, the bike this Shorai is going into has been quite kind to its batteries. I have other bikes where I’m lucky to get 2 years out of a battery so it’s relative as I already wrote.Install is fairly easy and straight forward. I used the battery that came out to figure the foam build up for the Shorai. Once done it fit snugly into its box but….I’d probably do things a bit different if I were to do it again.I also bought the extension lead which I leave permanently plugged into the battery. I run the lead out a convenient opening so I can plug my Shorai charger in when needed. I try to run the storage function when I’m not using this particular bike when I know I’m not going to ride it for a bit, and every couple of months after when I don’t.This seems to keep my other batteries in good shape….but I won’t really know until we’re 8 years in or more.

Operatioal life of the battery - NO onboard BMS (battery management system)
I am undecided if I made the correct decision to purchase this brand as it has a number of negative reviews as compared to some of the other brands. The main reason is the battery may not function after a rather short span of time. Some of the reviews report that there is no BMS in the battery therefore it has NO balancing of cell function when installed. The only way that the cells can be balanced is by an outboard charger with the cell balancing ability. I build off grid solar systems and ALL of those batteries - LiFePO4 - have built in BMS's on board. They have a very long life span (no. of charge/discharge cycles). So yes, I am quite concerned about the life span of this battery due to NO CELL balancing when in normal vehicle/motorcycle use.

Light, holds charge, not too expensive, great for XR650L

Battery keeps going dead
I liked the small size and light weightI did not like the very limited AH allowing the battery to be dead with very little engine cranking

Good upgrade, much lighter than lead acid and no spill worries.
Amazingly light, starts my XR650L as well as the old much heavier lead acid battery. Came with lots of foam pads to shim out the battery to fit box. Once I had all that figured out.. fix in existing battery box nicely.

Really disappointed
When I initially installed the battery it worked fine and started my bike quickly every time. Only 3 months later, I started having trouble. It sometimes takes ten tries to get my bike started. I know that lithium batteries don't perform well when they are cold, but this one is especially terrible. My brother has a lithium in his bike and it works great.I can't return this so I'll probably just put it in my track bike, but it's pretty annoying how this thing has performed so poorly so quickly
