A little pricey, but a perfect grater
I CANNOT STAND the box-type graters. The flat grater is just what I wanted. I can lay it across any bowl of various sizes and grate into that, or use it on a cutting board. This being stainless steel can run through the dishwasher after a bout with a sticky cheese, or otherwise I can give it a quick rinse at the sink and move on. The grater also feels very sturdy with a nice weight to it. Graters can be sharpened, BTW, after they get a bit dull on hard veggies. My dad sharpens mine for me as needed and it's as-new again. This grater will be around for a long time!

Professional Grade
WOW! This has a good, strong structure and a large grating surface which means you can make quick work of a 1 or even 2 pound block of cheese or whatever food you want to grate. I can't strongly enough recommend this grater if you want a fine shred for your foods. I, also, like that I don't have to worry about a handle or any plastic breaking.

Right size for the job
I ordered three graters trying to get the right one. This one is stainless steel and won't rust. It has a large area to grate on. It has the perfect size holes for grating hard cheeses. The workmanship is superior!

Fine cheese grater
Not very sturdy. It bends in the middle. Frame feels more sturdy but grating surface is pretty flimsy

A dangerous grater?
I don't know what it is about the design of this grater. It looks the same as several other graters I have but almost every time I use it (for hard cheese) I end up grating my knuckles. It is quite difficult to move the cheese directly up and down. It wants to move diagonally which causes me to lose my grip on it. Never had this problem with other graters.

Right size and sharpness
I got this grinder because it was made like one whole part. The previous one broke because plastic broke. And when the plastic broke around metal, I saw all the corrosion. I have no tolerance for corrosion on items in the kitchen I use to put in food. I saw other reviews for this product and I hope it will be stainless steel in and out. Time will tell if any corrosion appears. So far the grinder is the best!

This is not a truly fine grater
I wanted a fine grater to grind carrots. This is not what I call a fine grater. The openings are almost twice as large as that of a fine grater. The pieces of carrots come out larger than what I need. I would say it's in between a fine and a medium grater. I had to purchase their horseradish grater -- that is a fine grater. So, if you are looking for a truly fine grater, get the horseradish one. I cannot return it since I already used it, so am going to keep it. Not sure what I am going to use it for...
