Great for absolute beginners to grow into.
The media could not be loaded. This was my first real experience with a quadcopter "drone". Ive been an outdoor/nature photographer for a few years so I have a decent idea about the technical side of shooting. Since these started becoming popular, I've been interested. When the Phantom 4 came out, the prices on the P3s went down a bit. I figured this would be a good time to try one out and see how I like it. So, here is a real life review from a novice user like I'm guessing many who read this will be as well. So, for most like me, how easy is it to get up and flying?Well, it can seem pretty intimidating, an expensive piece of equipment, setting it all up, the updates, the manual, bla bla bla. I strongly recommend you cruise through the manual. By now there are tons of beginner videos on youtube that will show you the basics too. Make sure youve fully updated your quad, battery(s), controller, the app, etc. Take it somewhere with an open space like a sports field, with nothing to crash into. Get her in the air and take it easy. I'd even recommend using beginner mode. Honestly , once its in the air it is very easy to control and get the hang of. Get a good grasp of how it handles, the controls, the camera. Id recommend spending the time to get to know the controls and handling before going to crazy. Resist the urge to immediately try to test how fast, far, and high it can go. It can go fast, high, and far and if you dont know what youre doing it could go bad, quick. These are not toys. You will be impressed with the power, quality and usability of these. My first few flights consisted of flying around a play field at a local school (school season hadn't started) and even a venture above the school buildings. The control and stability will help build confidence in yourself as well as the machine. By the 4th or 5th flight, i was confident in myself and my Phantom to fly about half a mile out over a lake and the adjoining park. Get used to using visual sight of your quad and the video feed together for piloting. Pay attention to altitude and speed and also use the map view to assist with actual location and heading.Once you get a pretty good handle on basic flying, play around with some of the intelligent flight modes, they are pretty cool, I incorporate them with just standard freestyle shooting. The most difficult thing for me in learning to fly is depth perception. How far is the quad from you, and how close is it really to the objects you're flying near. It just takes practice and using visual, video feed, and map positioning, as well as caution and confidence. Directional control takes some getting used to. Like if the quad is facing you, left is right and right is left. I learned to use it that way and prefer it. I tried headless mode once after that and it was confusing, especially if you are relying on the video feed a lot.The build quality is good. Mine has taken some minor bumps and fared with not even a scratch. The stability, control, the features, all make this thing very easy for a total newb to fly. But the quality and features also allow you to really use it to potential once you master the basics. Is this a good drone for the absolute beginner? If you can afford it, yes. I have flown a few of the cheaper "toy" type drones since, and I have to say, this is the easiest of all of them to fly. If you can't afford the P3A or Pro, check out the standard. You can buy them new for around 400, used for even less and still get the same great flying experience.

Easy to Learn, Fun to Fly!
There are a plethora of reviews out there that delve into the minutia of this drone so I'm going to forego that, I'm not a serious drone enthusiast by any means so I'm not as knowledgeable in that regard but I'll throw my opinions into the ring anyway. The drone itself is a marvel of engineering, if you're delving into reviews for drones you're probably already aware of the technology behind these things. The Phantom 3 Advanced was a little smaller than I had expect but feel well made despite the plastic casings and such. After reading the instruction manuals and charging things up I was able to get the drone in the air for it's maiden voyage without much difficulty. In fact, the hardest part of flying it for me is resisting the urge to skip my pre-flight checklist just so I can get to the fun part. Though, I can't stress this enough, DO NOT skip your pre and post-flight checklists! Keeping the drone free of dirt, bugs, and ensuring everything is in working condition is essential to avoiding turning your drone into a very expensive falling projectile. DJI went through a lot of trouble to ensure that this drone was easy to fly, do a little bit of the work and you'll ensure it works as it's supposed to.On to how it flies! I live in a fairly mountainous, heavily wooded area so my range varies by a great deal depending upon where I'm flying. I bought a cheap pair of antenna boosters for a couple of bucks and when flying within line-of-sight I've pushed just over 3 miles. Far enough that I almost ran out of enough battery to get me home safely! Battery life varies depending on how I'm flying and what type of maneuvering I'm doing but generally it's around 18-20 before the warning kicks in at 30%.The drone itself is easy to fly after some practice, does a great job of hovering on its own, and the camera gimbal is pretty much flawless. There are so many good things about this drone that it tends to make the few flaws really stand out. First, the firmware upgrade policy is a nightmare. It's not that it's difficult to keep the controller and drone up to date, it's just that it's so clunky and cumbersome next to the rest of the streamlined presentation everything else offers. Another gripe is that after the latest firmware update, and extensive recalibrations to ensure I hadn't screwed something up, my drone doesn't always want to fly straight, it'll fly forward and to the left. I've read some others that have had this same issue and though it's easy to compensate for it's a real pain sometimes.Other than that I've spent a lot of time getting to know the Phantom 3 Advanced and I can't recommend it enough to anyone interested in aerial photography. It has a steep jumping in price, but it's well worth it and great learning drone!

Love my Phantom 3 Advanced.
Best deal on a phantom 3 advanced sale yet. Multidrone had the best price and super fast shipping. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again. As for the phantom 3 itself, it's a great platform that inspires confidence when flying and has great video and pictures. If you don't need 4k video, save the dough and go with the advanced as it's the same quad and remote as the pro but in this case was 500 but cheaper.

Phenomenal seller. Highly reccomended
When I purchased the drone I had connection issues. I contacted the seller and he notified me he was on vacation with his family. Even though he was on vacation he spent a significant amount of time with me on the phone to correct the connection issue. Everything works perfectly now.Customer service was excellent.Thank you very much.
