Spice and Wolf, Vol. 14 (light novel)

This is by far the best one yet of the series. Hasekura finally managed to better label the characters who were speaking with only a handful of times where I was uncertain. That was the biggest factor keeping me from 5 star reviews before in the series. As for the story itself, even though it was merely a preparatory story, it was so well done that it doesn't feel like prep work for something bigger. It feels like its own story with stakes every bit as large as the others with entire cities and lives at stake. The plotting and scheming was on the same level as those as well. It was a terrific story. The character growth in this one volume is impressive to say the least. Especially from Holo. I don't see how the rest of the series could get any better. More suspenseful and exciting? Sure. But not necessarily better. Well done Hasekura. Well done.

My son wants all of the light novels for spice and wolf. We watched the anime and loved it so for christmas I bought him a bunch and now I'm buying a bunch more for him for his birthday. He loves the novels a lot and can't wait for the next bunch he gets.

This volume put a great story together from beginning to end. Clues are spread throughout the story for the reader to pick up on. The economics here deal with the "darker" side of dealing and trading in goods vs currency, so the author mixes things up a little when presenting resolution. We also get a surprise appearance from a character from way back, which of whom plays a major part in the story this time around. As always this is a must read for anyone reading the Spice and Wolf series, containing your fill of surprises, suspense, and light-hearted fun that we know and love.

the best book so far!! the end almost made me cry :D really nice volume! read it! I want to read the last 3 volumes and waiting for the nendoroid and the wedding version figure!! I love this story so much.

A fun volume in this series. Definitely a great read, and satisfying to finish. Can't wait for the next volume!

It really was. I truly enjoyed this story, many of the pages I read over and over. If you enjoyed the others this one you will surely enjoy.

Got this for a friend and he loves it.

Well it took forever to arrive but in the end it arrived just today.looking so much forward to reading it, since i have been waiting to continue reading. i purchased all volumes from 13 and up to 17 at the same time, got 13, 15,16, and 17 all together but book number 13 was missing up till today :_(I am so much looking forward to reading finishing this master piece of literature.

A light novel continua muito bem escrita e traduzida, com uma qualidade impecável assim como as outras. A história resume-se basicamente na continuação de Holo e Lawrence para encontrar Yoitsu e o problemas que surgem pelo caminho e neste volume é que os personagens começam a ter um desenvolvimento mais acentuado. Para quem gosta de ler light novel, essa série não pode faltar na estante.

If you enjoyed the anime but were left wanting more from the non-conclusive ending that it had then I can't recommend the Spice&Wolf light novels enough. Continue the adventures of Holo and Laurence and enjoy the journey!

It's a Spice and Wolf book. What's not to love!
