Not deep enough for a standard marine starting battery
The specs say its an inch deeper than it really is. Right now I cant close the lid. I should probably send it back

poor quality, poor customer service at Taylor
This box has issues.First it doesn't completely seal.Second, Taylor admits theres a problem with their vent tube setup. They provide a palnut fastner that does not fit their nylon 90 degree.I've called over 6 times about this issue. The fastener is too big and falls right off the barbed fitting for the vent. I can not find a solution at home depot.Third, their threaded rod is 1" too short. I had to purchase threaded rod from Home Depot and cut to length.

Good Quality
I installed this box in the trunk of my Cobra roadster. It is well made and of good quality. It also looks good. It is exactly as the manufacturer states. I would recommend it. It has served me well.
