Great book! Worth the read!
Very thorough book. Really read stuffed with over inflated theories. Worth the money and knowledge. Read this book three times for a Fire promotional exam. Wished I had this book after I got hired with my FD.

Nice resource.
Was looking for something to help with reviewing and refreshing on information that was learned years ago that sometimes gets forgotten when not used on a regular basis. Arrived in good condition and before the estimated date of delivery. Its a hardcover book that is small enough to throw in a backpack or duty bag.

Delivery/condition=GREAT! Book=SUCKS!
This book SUCKS!There is some good information to be learned from this book, along with basic principles and an overview of hydraulics. HOWEVER!The number of mistakes in this text book is ridiculous! These mistakes are mostly made in equations throughout the entire textbook. Literally, when they're trying to teach these equations to you, the numbers and figures used are wrong and dont always make sense.ALSO, at the end of each chapter there is a 10-20 question quiz which are always provided with answers on the following page. A lot of these answers don't match the info provided in the text from that chapter. So your continuously left with thinking......which one is correct????I haven't read a lot of textbooks aimed at Engineer Operators, but there has SURELY got to be a better one!! Go find a different one! You will not be happy with this book

I didn't like it, It was too simple and it doesn't ...
I didn't like it, It was too simple and it doesn't say anything about High Rise emergencies, or complex way to get water supply.

Terrible
Terrible book to learn fire service hydraulics and pump operations from. Book is jam packed with errors in the very equations it is trying to use to teach students a new concept. If a person new to this subject tried to actually learn from it and follow along by doing the math then they would be thoroughly confused at every turn. The author speaks a lot of "the most common" ways to do things and they are just not true. A lot of the examples used throughout the book were not realistic and do not serve well to help illustrate the concept for the reader. The author also did not seem to truly do his research for items he tries to write about at many places throughout the book. Perhaps having someone from Pennwell Publishing with some technical expertise do an actual fact check for the book would correct many of these errors and non-truths and make this a usable text for learning the subject matter.

MISTAKES, MISTAKES, MISTAKES!
Tons of mistakes throughout, not sure if he really checked his work! Not a great book if you are new to the fire service or fire service hydraulics. If you work in Denver you will learn your operations, lots of references specific to how Denver Fire Department operates (ex. using MDH in lieu of LDH), not much about how the general population in the rest of the country operates. Also, a fair amount of examples used in the book are unrealistic.
