There is absolutely no way you can tell that this is melamine unless you touch it. It’s a lovely tray and I have it on my kitchen table where little hands can reach it, but fortunately cannot break it..

As I read the reviews of this product, several were sufficiently negative that I almost didn't order it. They said that it was cheap plastic and that the color was bad. However, the description clearly states that it's melamine and it looked nice in the picture, so considering the low price I decided to take a chance. When it arrived I was very pleasantly surprised at the excellent quality. The design is an exact rendition of Spode Italian, the color is spot on and it has the highest polish I've ever seen on melamine. I wanted it for outdoor use, but it's nice enough to mix with my genuine Spode for entertaining.

I needed something to make my AeroPress coffee on, and this is perfect! I love the classic Spode Blue design, and I love that it’s melamine, and I’m not going to easily break this pretty tray. Another nice feature for me, as I’m using it to place items for making coffee, is that a half paper towel fits perfectly on it to absorb any messes. I was looking for something like this for months, so happy I found this. Pimpernel just has so many lovely and practical things!

Extremely attractive pattern with fantastic rendition of the color blue. I have china pieces in similar patterns and the color match of these trays is very good! I use these trays left and right of my sink under a white utility holder for cleaning brushes & washing up liquid, bottles of hand wash and antibacterial gel on one side and tray for rings and small pot for coasters on the other. We prefer an intended decor look wherever possible even at the sink. Plus we much prefer cleaning under two pretty trays we can rinse in the sink fast then fiddling with cleaning under 6-10 utility bottles, sponges, brushes bits and bibs. These trays may be a tad light weight given the Pimpernel brand reputation but they are extremely attractive. Could be a little longer as well but nevertheless fill the bill quite nicely.

There is an old fashioned part of me which likes to have the pleasure of tea...not just a simple mug of tea put together in the microwave, though that's often the case, but a full on....or partly on...pot of tea, especially to share with a friend. This tray would be perfect for little sandwiches, though I put my creamer and sugar container and napkins on mine and use the larger platter for the teapot, cups/saucers/spoons, and a tiered tray for sandwiches and cookies. This particular "sandwich tray" was a lucky find as it coordinates so well with my Blue Willow tea set. In this complicated life, I find that an occasional stopping point for something so simple as an easily put together pot of tea and simple munchies is refreshing and soothing to the spirit. And, it's fun!! Somehow it enriches the conversation if you're with friends, and even if alone, it adds a specialness to your day. It even makes one smile to see it all in the cupboard :-) This was a super purchase which I highly recommend.

Lightweight and looks like spode dishes.

No, this is not Spode. It is meant to coordinate with existing Spode, like if you are entertaining outside and don't want your expensive version broken. On my tray, the color is not a royal blue, but has more of a purple xast. Especially in poor light or when I first pick it up and look at it. If I pair it with my cobalt "Brown Betty" teapot, it looks just fine, and even more blue. If you want "real" authentic Spode, you can find it on Amazon for three times the price of this melamine. If you want to take your beautiful Spode out to you patio without worrying about breaking cherished pieces, this might be worth consideration.

Il vassoio è veramente bello e funzionale. Colori bellissimi e raffinati. Può portare due tazze da te e zucchero o altro. Misura giusta per tanti usi in sala da pranzo, caffè, the, merende. La melanina purtroppo è fragile e bisogna stare attenti a non fargli prendere colpi. Molto contenta dell'acquisto.

I loved this tray so much I ordered a second one! Great for entertaining!
