Peanuts 70th Anniversary Holiday Collection Limited Edition (Blu-ray)

Great! Except....
I actually made the time today to watch all 3 DVDs. The "Great Pumpkin" and "Thanksgiving" ones were great, as always! In regards to the "Christmas" one, I must have thought that the bonus episode would have been the "I want a dog for Christmas, Charlie Brown", but that wasn't the case. I liked the "Christmas time again" episode, but I was so expecting to see Rerun! Oh well. I didn't pay much attention to the details prior to ordering this 3-DVD set so, that was my mistake, not the DVDs!

What's included with the digital movie code? Glad you asked! ^_^
When I heard that starting with the 2020 holiday season, the beloved classic Peanuts specials would no longer be shown on broadcast television (due to a recent distribution deal with Apple for their streaming service), I immediately sought out this collector's set. My goal was to get Peanuts on Blu-ray + digital code, and this set fits the bill.At the time of this writing, the Amazon product listing provides just a single photo of the front of the product, so I've included a photo of the back of the box detailing the physical contents. The collection packaging is very fun, as the discs, book and Snoopy figurine are all placed inside a very colorful (and pretty sturdy cardboard) likeness of Snoopy's doghouse all decked-out for Christmas. Also tucked into the packaging is a paper sheet with a single digital code that unlocks all three holiday specials for you to stream to your television (or smart phone or tablet, etc.). The following list is comprised of each special and its bonus material, as was unlocked for me when I redeemed the digital code via my Vudu account:- It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown (1966 / 74 min; includes two bonus episodes: "It's Magic, Charlie Brown" and "Charlie Brown's All-Stars")- A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving (1973 / 75 min; includes two bonus episodes: "The Mayflower Voyagers" and "Play It Again, Charlie Brown")- A Charlie Brown Christmas (1965 / 73 min; includes two bonus episodes: "It's Christmastime Again, Charlie Brown" and "It's Flashbeagle, Charlie Brown")NOTE: If you also have a MoviesAnywhere account (I've linked my MA account to my Vudu account), then you gain access to these additional featurettes:- Great Pumpkin: "We Need a Blockbuster, Charlie Brown!"- Thanksgiving: "Popcorn & Jellybeans: Making a Thanksgiving Classic"- Christmas: "A Christmas Miracle: The Making of A Charlie Brown Christmas"

Great collector's edition in theory, but poor design
I haven't watched the specials yet because I'm saving them for their respective holidays, but I'm sure they look and sound fantastic on Blu-ray. My issue isn't with the specials, it's with everything else. The biggest issue with this limited edition collector's set is that the little booklets that hold the 4 discs is made terribly. The center plastic mechanism, that holds the discs in place and that should have some give so that you can press it to release the discs (you know, the one found in literally all CD and DVD and Blu-ray and video game boxes) was rock solid. I put all my weight into trying to press down, but it wouldn't budge at all. I had to literally bend the Blu-ray discs an uncomfortable degree to finally pop them out, which is entirely unacceptable. It would be bad enough as is for regular disc cases, but these specially made cases have nice Peanuts art on the front, back, and insides, so it's not replaceable. It's a shame I can't store the discs in the cases they came with; I've put them in a generic disc case for safe keeping because I'm genuinely afraid I'll snap them if I try to pull them out again. There are a few other issues I have, though these might just exist because I got a bad batch or used a bad seller. For one, the thin plastic container the Snoopy house box came in was beat up pretty bad. Two of the corners and one of the edges was torn open, and the adhesive tape that holds it together looked like it was peeled off an reapplied. The Snoopy house itself wasn't free from damage either. Two of the corners of the roof are bent inward slightly, and just about every corner of the house is scuffed up a little bit. There are small blemishes all over the house, the materials (booklet and digital redemption code), even the Snoopy figurine. What's more, there two fingerprints on the underside of two of the Blu-ray discs. I'm under the impression that this was a returned item, and will confront the seller about this since it was advertised as brand new.Overall, would have been a 5/5 product, but loses 1 star for the unusable disc booklet design/manufacture, and another star for poor quality it came in despite being advertised as new.

Happy 70th Peanuts, but this holiday edition may not have been a new item
I have to agree with reviewer Larry Wang that mine may also not have been new. Mine wasn't damaged as badly as Larry's, but mine also came with all of the tape that holds the clear plastic outer box cut through. The clear plastic also looked as though it had been tossed around as it was very scratched and one corner broken. I saw no damage to Snoopy's dog house or the figure of him, though. I also did notice that one disk already came with a finger print on it. Overall, I thought this was a nice collection and have loved Peanuts for my nearly 70 years, but I do wonder about how Amazon could list this as new when it clearly had been opened?

Tolle Sonderedition ohne deutschen Ton

Great value for the money
I'm happy with this collection. Along with the 3 main Features - Charlie Brown Christmas, Charlie Brown Thanksgiving and It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown- there is also a couple of fun bonus films to enjoy. These are my favourite Peanuts movies. The picture quality is great and it's so nice to be able to watch with the family without 130 commercials cutting into the feature. It came well packaged and in good time. I think it's great value for the money.I'm happy with my purchase and with this seller 👍

A Must Own
Sometimes when these specials come on TV each year, we miss them. It's nice to to own all of them in one set. If you can get it on sale (like I did), scoop it up!
