Seemingly indestructible
This seems to be the ultimate in a long-lasting sandal. Although I've done some long hikes in these sandals, they seem to look just like brand new after I wash them. I experienced some minor discomfort on my pinky toe from one of the straps. On a long hike, I will just put a Band-Aid or piece of tape over it. They feel as solid and as comfortable as a light duty pair of hiking boots.

Great brand, satisfied customer
I was looking for a new pair of sandals, and when I found these in bright orange it was an easy sell. I love Chaco & orange is my favorite color. The durability, and the way the straps adjust to fit my feet is what I’ve always loved about the Chacos brand. They also clean up easily in soapy warm water & dry quickly too

Chacos Z1 Im a believer
Why did I wait so long to buy Chacos? There is something about the fit , the footbed huged my heels, arch support check, room in the toe box double check. Those crazy adjustable straps slide this way pull the other way awesome, that is the ultimate in customized fit my foot was cradled in ready for a walk. Im recovering from being hit by a car so I have hip foot knee damage. I was very anxious to find the perfect fitting shoe for recovery walks. All my other shoes have laces or straps that pinch somewhere that hurts, or footbeds that are too cushy. The Chacos moved with my foot like a dance partner what a revelation! To be honest, I bought them on advice from my daughter who has worn Chacos for many years. She was spot on.

Perfect!
These are great Chacos! Perfect sizing, the instep isn’t as drastic as the older versions and they’re much lighter than the old ones too.

Chaco Men's Z1 Classic Sport Sandal
This is my first pair of Chaco's. Somehow I always overlooked these in the store. I bought this sandal to wear hiking in the Rockies. It was a good choice. They do hold on to your feet at a steep edge. I was descending on terrain I would not normally attempt in sandals. The straps held my feet without slipping and felt secure. I had at first thought I made a mistake wearing these hiking but after reaching the bottom I was confident that they would work for a hike in the mountains. A big advantage wearing these sandals is that your feet stay cool. In hiking boots my feet get hot.The adjustment strap is a bit long but in my case it does not touch the ground. I found it helpful to have the longer strap. I could tighten the strap quickly when climbing and loosen it afterwards for walking on flat ground. I like the snug fit when climbing but prefer a little looser when walking on a flat trail.Walking on a wet surface had the same grip feeling as wearing a hiking boot. The bottom of the sandal does look like a hiking boot sole.I measured the weight of each sandal and oddly one weighs more than the other. The left sandal was 11.2 oz and the right sandal was 14.2oz. This is for size 9.I also purchased the Chaco mega Z cloud and it too had different weighting per sandal. And the right sandal was the heavier one. Must be a manufacturing issue. I don't notice the weight difference when on my feetThe straps didn't cause and irritation at all. I wore them on several short walks before hiking a longer trail. But I have been wearing sandals all day for 6 months or so and that might have prepared my feet for these straps. After about 1 day I started to feel like the heal was too narrow. I ordered the medium width which is my normal width. I stopped at a local shop and tried on a wide version of the same sandal and the heal was wider but it felt too wide, too much sliding around in the heel.. My foot had a bit of movement that I thought was too much. After experiencing steep terrain I am glad I kept the medium width, you need a snug fit to walk a steep incline. Any movement can throw your balance off.The width feeling was due to the cup at the heal of the sandal. Most sandals are shaped at the heal. However these sandals have a heel cup which has a different feel but it is what makes it possible to walk a rocky steep trail while holding your foot stable. The foot arch of the sandal is high. Much more arch than any other sandal I have seen. And my foot does well after walking in them for several hours. I feel the arch is really helpful.Summary, feels like wearing a hiking boot. Highly recommend for trail use or walking in general. I feel confident the straps will not break easily and I should get some indication when they wear out. I have had other high quality sandals look ok but suddenly snap while wearing them. Not great when a few miles out. I typically walk around 5 miles on a walk using these sandals. No issues wearing them. I have walked around 10+ miles in theses sandals and no issues to report yet. After wearing these sandals for a month or so I have found them incredible. I prefer these over any other sandal or shoe for walking. There are nicer looking sandals but not as comfortable or as good of traction as these.

Awesome sandals
My son had been trying to get me to purchase some Chaco sandals for awhile and finally this summer I purchased some. Attractive sandal with great foot support. I would recommend giving them a try. Run true to size.

Feel great
I was hesitant about purchasing them. I’ve had chacos for over 7 years-the same ones! And they are still perfect. After reading many reviews I was nervous as these are no longer made in USA. I cannot speak of durability yet as it has only been 6weeks, but they are as comfortable as always.

Good Looking & Great Price!
Quick delivery, good looking sandal, fits as expected. Arch takes some getting used to, but is the same if purchased in store for more $$. Expect good durability & years of use! Would buy again.

Love the sandals but the sizing is confusing
To be honest this is the best looking and feeling sandal I have ever bought. It’s sporty, it’s a little dressy, it’s super easy to put on and I feel like it’s gray for the city or a hike. But at times I feel like I could have bought 2 sizes smaller. I am a 42, I ordered a 41 and i think I could have even worn a 40 comfortably because my feet aren’t wide

Supportive
I like the fit and feel of these sandals a lot. I've not had many spot type sandals but of those I've had these are the best by far.

Pay attention to Sizing
I was really looking forward to wearing Chacos after reading so many reviews.I thought I was buying size 11 US but I only just now realized I bought an 11 Australian which is 12 US. So confusing as some sites suggest Aus and US are the same. 12 US is size 30-inch heel to toe. At most I want 29 inches heel to toe which is 11 US.It is a problem with not having half sizes available in Thongs and Sandals.Anyway, after thinking I got it right, they arrived too long and were not wearable. The arch seems to be under the ball of my foot. My foot is 28 inches. I may need a standard US 10. Not sure I want to try wide again as they are a good deal wider than my Teva Universals size 11 USFor sports shoes, I usually take 11.5 US but sandals like Teva and Chacos seem to run long. And shoes fit differently to sandals really considering the foot is enclosed. With the raised edges of Chaco, not sure they will fit me in standard but may take the risk with a reduced-price pair now that returns are costly and time-consuming from Australia.Hope this helps, I read so many reviews before buying online and so many different opinions on various sites, it's helpful, but not guaranteed.Additionally, they came in a box that was damaged and not suitable for wide as the box did not close. See images. I returned them via Australia Post for approximately $54 with a bag as I am not familiar with the Amazon return method, parcel point, or whatever it is for $25End result is I want to buy a pair of Chacos so will ask some questions on the Chaco website for sizing, just a shame they don't deliver to Australia as the Amazon sellers don't give the right information.
