UPDATE: Used for about an hour...observed very very little voltage loss.connected easily to inlet box.Abit unwieldy to store as you need large figure-8 loops to properly store. i mounted on a cheap wall hose reel in garage.#######ok...i haven't used it but wanted to report on what was received as some people posted the cord wasn't marked, was in a plain box, made in china, etc...First mine arrived in a plain white box with a label on side marked with Reliance Electric, address, description, etc. was it a fancy looking box...umm no. The cord had a Warranty sheet with Reliance electric name on it. And the cord had a label wrapped on it that said Reliance electric. also the cord ends are marked Reliance. it seems sturdy and the connectors - made in Phillipines - seemed well attached. it's standard STJW wire, not the premium SOOW.ok..first yea it's made in China. in fact if you go to Reliance website guess where they state it's made? Iowa? Kansas? Nope..China. Now is that same factory also making same cords for less? beats me. but i would hope Reliance would spec things out. After i use it a few times i'll report back..

Simple Solution
First, I would like to note I received exactly what I pictured and ordered unlike a few other customers who stated they received something else. Second, I would like to thank Reliance for making a durable product. Third and most important, I want to thank Amazon for making it readily available and sending the item free of charge to my front door.My wife and I recently bought a fairly new home 2 years ago and during that time fell victim to multiple power outages in the area due to bad weather. We have a generator that supported our needs but with multiple power cords threaded through the window. Needless to say, the process and time it took to set every thing up was a pain. Fortunately, with some research we had an interlock switch installed in addition to purchasing the Reliance power cord. Not long after receiving the power cord, we had another power outage and the cord performed as advertised. The interlock switch and the power cord allowed us to power everything we wanted in the house with no problems. I will also note we did not try to power our furnace or A/C units. If there are any potential buyers out there wondering about buying this product, I would say the benefits far out weigh the cost. More importantly, don't be the person who wish they had purchased this product and didn't when a power outage occurs.

Heavy Duty, but STIFF in cold weather.
I ordered a 40-foot cord and to my surprise I received a 50-foot cord. There was a little sticker on the box that said "Bonus - The 40' cord was replaced with a 50' cord". It's a very heavy duty cord with molded plugs. I was surprised, however, that the cord was yellow instead of the black cord pictured on Amazon's web site. Also, I was surprised that the cord is NOT very flexible in cold weather. The 10' black cord that came with my transfer switch seems more flexible than this yellow one. Not sure if it's a different kind of rubber or what, but I was a bit disappointed in this cord. I got it for a great price and it's a nice quality cord, but I wish it was better suited for cold weather. That's why I gave it 4 stars and not 5.Upon closer inspection I see that this cord is NOT made by Reliance Controls, and is NOT rated at -40c (-40F) like my Reliance Controls cord is, but rather it says 60c (140F) on it! This cord is NOT MADE for cold weather. While I appreciate the great price of $99 for this cord, I do NOT appreciate being DUPED by Amazon or whoever is responsible. I would have gladly paid more money for the cord that I wanted. Shame on AMAZON for MISREPRESENTATION!Buyer beware! The cord selling for $99 is NOT made by Reliance Controls, and is not of the same quality.

Time Will Tell
Seems like a decent product. Mine has clear illuminated ends (both). Only used in power outages, so don't yet know how this will hold up over the years.

Nice length..
Perfect length to reach to the side of my house and plug into my transfer switch just what I needed.

Does what it should
I have yet to use this yet, as my generator has not arrived yet, but I needed a longer cord, as the 10ft cord that came with my manual transfer switch package will be too short, considering the distance from the outside connector, and where I can safely place my generator away from the house ( they recommend 20 feet away from your house). One thing I was hoping, and it did come this way, as it does have I beleive an illuminated end, and it is not black as what is shown in the picture, so that is a good thing.Appears to be a quality genuine Reliance cable assembly.... Once I try this out, I will add to my review.
