This is a great little device and probably saved my life. I know this says it does not detect heart attacks but for me it picked up a nstemi rhythm (looked it up on internet) which prompted me to go to a&e. After having a blood test I was told that I’d had a heart attack and was admitted to hospital and got the necessary life saving treatment. If I hadn’t had this device I wouldn’t have known I had a problem and probably wouldn’t be here now.

Although the item description says: "NO SUBSCRIPTION REQUIRED: unlimited ECGs, ECG storage on your phone and weight and blood pressure monitoring", the app REQUIRES permission to store de-identified data on US servers with a warning about US laws being 'different' from other countries, i.e. not to be trusted. I believe they used to be able to be operated without uploading beyond your own device, but this seems not to be the case now. The UK support phone number goes to an electricity company for the "North East, Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire" - this does not improve trust. Returning item.

I have used the KardiaMobile Monitor for several years now. I have also paid a yearly subscription for the advanced determination. The standard KM worked well as long as I had a Normal Sinus Rhythm. But problems began a few months ago when it started reading Atrial Fibrillation. I submitted the reading to Advanced Determination", and atrial fibrillation was confirmed by the cardiac technician. However, when I showed the rhythm strip to my cardiologist he read "Premature Atrial Contractions." This is an extremely important distinction, as far as treatment and prognosis is concerned. There is no point in having the KM if it gives false positives.HOWEVER, I looked at all other available monitors and decided on the KardiaMobile 6-Lead Monitor. It costs £50 more, and is worth every pence of it. It is simply much more reliable., than the basic KM. It reads NSR when the basic KM reads AFib. (And the cardiologist reads NSR.)I therefore highly recommend the KM 6 lead. I have found the standard single lead KM to be useless. Too many false positives. Sending the strip at £10 a shot for a further reading is also useless. They cannot distinguish PAC from AF. To be fair AliveCor does recommend that a cardiologist read the strip. But why buy a product which gives incorrect readings? Even the Advanced Determination couldn't provide the correct reading.

I already had a kardia mobile 1 lead monitor but my heart problem is intermittent and more complex so I have now purchased the Kardia Mobile 6 lead which has already detected problems. I have an excellent heart Consultant but this excellent little gadget gives me peace of mind. I also signed up for the £9.99p per month 'membership' but my Consultant says I don't need this as I can send any worrying readings to him. I am going to cancel the payments.
