Good value for money
My 2 year old husky eats his food like he's never been fed a day in his life. After a scary choking incident, I realized I had to get him something to slow him down. I bought this and a puzzle bowl. The puzzle bowl was backordered so the snuffle pad arrived first. After he figured out how to use it, not only does it slow his eating tremendously, he actually seems to enjoy rooting around and finding his food. The only complaint I have is that is isn't super tear resistant. It holds up fine to washing, but when my dog gets a little more aggressive and starts pulling on the "grass" pieces with his teeth, they tear very easily and come right out. I'm training him not to do this, but I wish they were a little more tear resistant. Other than that, this is quite literally a life saver for us!

Cute and has stood up to wear
We have this for our 20-ish pound dogs. We haven't had any problems with breakage like I saw in some other reviews. Our dogs are not very destructive though and we put the mat up after they have finished eating so they are not tempted to tear the cloth. Overall, I like how this slows down their eating and engages their brains. We use this snuffle mat and a puzzle ball for meals and switch the dogs between them. It's also terribly cute to watch them snuffle for their food.

my dog's eye light up like the 4th of july when he sees this now!
i have a 13 y/o chihuahua, hes stubborn, picky, and has no problem voicing his opinion. his whole life he's only ever played with one toy. i bought him just about everything under the sun but i was no match for his loyalty to that raggedy slender teddy bear he took for his own from my suitcase after returning home from a trip to florida (that was in 2007). over the years, ive washed it, sewed every seam numerous times, re-attached limbs, all to preserve the on toy that drives him nuts. i order this to see how he would react. after one intense test run, he was hooked on this thing. i can put break his treat into a bunch of pieces, mix in some kibble and he'll sniff and sniff and sniff and sniff and sniff and sniff.the design and materials are very basic and cheap but itll work for my little for now. ill def be checking out other variations of the snuffle mat soon

Great concept, not very durable
A fantastic concept. Slowed our lab's eating extensively, better than the slow feed bowls. But durability is not good. We've had this less than a week, and it is already falling apart. We've had to pull felt out of her mouth while she eats. Wish it was built better!

Snuffle Mat - Brilliant Idea for Occupying Dogs
I bought this snuffle mat to occupy my beagle. It works great! 1/4 cup of kibble occupies him for 10 minutes. I use it as a distraction for when we leave the house, or when he's bored but I have things to do and I need to keep him busy for a bit. He sniffs and finds every single piece of kibble. We feed him portions of his daily meals in the snuffle mat and he loves it. I like how this snuffle mat has a drawstring to close up the mat for storing. My beagle chewed off the plastic toggle on the drawstring on the first use, but that's not a big deal for using the mat and I was watching him at the time so I was able to grab the plastic pieces quickly. I haven't washed the snuffle mat yet to see how it holds up. Snuffle mats are a brilliant idea!

PERFECT
We watch dogs as a side hustle and have recommended this to every dog owner and they LOVE IT. Our own dog is OBSESSED with eating his food out of here- it keeps him occupied, and he clearly is having fun with it. Even if I have a bowl of his food out, he’ll still choose to eat it out of here!To get him excited about it I mixed in 2-3 treats the first three times, but now I only put in food and he loves it- and he’s an older dog. Some of the puppies we watch have issues with rushing through their food, and their owners have said this helps a lot. Highly recommend!

A great idea... but my dog figured out how to cheat
My sister was the first person to tell me about snuffle mats. We have been looking for toys to keep our blind puppy entertained, and we hoped this would be a hit. We got it, chopped up some of her treats into pieces and sprinkled them around the mat. The dog went NUTS. She was digging and sniffing and running around in circles. Even after she had found all the treats, she would continue to chew on the mat and was carrying it around from room to room showing everybody her new toy. It is machine washable, which is a must. So far it has been through several washes and the dryer, and it is holding up quite well. Unfortunately, puppy has figured out a way to cheat. If we aren't watching her, she will just shake the mat violently until all the treats fall out. She's a smart little devil.

Good snuffle rug, but may need additional stitching
We needed our anxious rescue dog to have to do calming activities throughout his day to keep him from being overly excited. He only ate from frozen stuffed Kong-type treats (licking has a calming effect on dogs) and this snuffle rug (sniffing kept his mind occupied, since we could not play other games with him). The rug worked well, but we did have to restitch some of it after a few weeks. And, once our dog had gotten most of the snacks, he would definitely flip it over and shake it out, but we saw that as a positive things, since it showed him thinking through how to get those last morsels. If your dog doesn't like to sniff things out, this is not the feeding toy for them. Otherwise, it was worth the money.
