So great!
I have only had these for about two weeks, but I am already telling everyone I know about how awesome it is to not have every single connection constantly leaking. I love them. I have high hopes for the future. I don't need 50, but can pass them out to friends and family with confidence. They came in a little clear plastic box, so maybe in my perfect fantasy future I will actually be able to find them if I ever need one again. Maybe I'll be thin and have good posture then, too. We'll see.

Not fully 5/8" inner opening
These silicone washers run a little bit small. They would have been perfect if they were fully 5/8" or even slightly larger than as advertised. Instead, the inner opening of these washers is actually about 1/16" shy of 5/8" diameter. In fact, I would have preferred them to be 1/16" larger instead of 1/16" smaller than advertiszed. The difference between the two extremes would have been a whole 1/8" in extra inner opening diameter. It may seem nitpicking, but every little bit of flow restriction adds up for my low pressure (26 to 30 PSI) municipal water supply because I live near a hill top just below the reservoir. That extra 1/8" in inner opening diameter would have resulted in a 50% increase in maximum flow capacity.

Better'n rubber
I chose these because they are made of silicone rubber. That may not mean much to you, but silicone is much more stable, like glass, than standard rubber and one of my biggest complaints with rubber hose washers is that the sunlight they are exposed to destroys the rubber compound they are made of rather quickly making them cracked and stiff. However, I can say I was a little disappointed due to their small diameter. I have always liked the washers that are large enough to securely wedge themselves into the female fitting so that they don't fall out and get lost. But these are of the 'standard' size, meaning that they'll be prone to falling out and getting lost.

All but identical in size to old rubber washers...
There are a few reviews suggesting these silicone washers have smaller inner diameters or outer diameters. From the naked eye, these are essentially identical to the red rubber washers I've used in the past (ID, OD, thickness). They don't have any kind of "tabs" to help keep them inserted, but the first hose I put one in the washer was held firmly in place.I have no use for the vinyl washers that are most commonly found. Those are too hard to start with, and deform/hold their shape and always end up leaky. The regular rubber washers (what I've used for several years) seal much better but deteriorate rather quickly - hardening and crumbling. These silicone ones have the pliability of rubber (perhaps moreso in colder conditions - or when the water is flowing) plus the bonus of long life (I'm assuming since I just received these). Also, I received 40 washers in the plastic box.

Great washers, but are too thick for some hose connectors to thread securely.
These are the best garden hose washers I have ever seen. The only problem is that they are so thick that it is hard to impossible to engage the threads on some of my hoses. I have approximately twenty hoses around my farm, running to horse troughs and irrigation heads, and about a third of them cannot use these washers. The ones that are problems are the cheaper hoses from the big boxes; quality hoses seem to have deeper threads for better engagement on their female ends.

These are the hose washers you want.
I never guessed I would have written a review about hose washers. It turns out almost every hosewasher on the planet is complete garbage and doesn't work. The ones that came with the product leaked. The ones that I bought at the big chain building supply store leaked. These didn't leak. Well worth the purchase if you want to solve your problem and move on with life.Yes - they come in a box of 50 and you don't need that many. Buy them anyway and you'll never have to think about hose washers again and you can take care of more important things. They're cheap.

Silicon Hose Washers Blow Away Even the Best Rubber Washers
These silicon hose washers are simply amazing. I have a hose-end sprayer that has leaked since I bought it... no matter what brand of conventional off-the-shelf rubber hose washer I put in, it still leaked. After installing one of these silicon washers, no leaking! First time that expensive hose-end sprayer didn’t leak! I have now replaced every rubber washer in the ends of hoses, sprinklers, and even the “Y” connector at the faucet... not one leak! And you may think the large package size is unnecessary, but the washers are enclosed in a little plastic box that stows easily... you will have washers for a long time, and they will work great! Quit reading and just go ahead and order them... you won’t be disappointed.

Love of my garden life!
My backyard hose never seemed to have enough pressure. Over the years, I have replaced the hose and the faucet.Saw these and the great reviews and thought, "Why not?"I replaced every washer from faucet to connector hose to hose reel to actual hose, to sprayer head and Oh My Gosh, it was a freaking geyser! In the process, I definitely found a couple brittle rubber gaskets that were the cause of the problem.Watering in the backyard used to be a source of frustration, but now that it's fixed, I will write a best-selling book, get wealthy, and become a philanthropist. But I won't become famous because I don't want the paparazzi hounding me. You know how those news stand rags will just twist the truth and make up astonishing headlines like, "Using Silicone Hose Washers Brought My Dead Dog Back from the GRAVE!"Like another reviewer, I have given some to neighbors because these are so fabulous.Definitely recommend.
