I got this book to learn how to meditate to decrease back pain. this book goes through different exercises to help you determine what you want to get out of meditation and then it goes through the many kinds of meditation. then at the very end of the book it shows you how to meditate and uses what you learned in the beginning of the book and creates a four-week program to help you achieve a deep meditation. i haven't gotten through the entire process but so far i have really liked it. just being able to relax and focus on the exercise has decreased my back pain.

Classic
I have owned this book probably since it was first published in the the '90s. I have read it several times. I seem to only meditate when there are issues in my life and I want to clear my head. It's an easy read and, I feel, its full of good information. It always helps me focus on what is important during meditation. Highly recommend this book.

Meditation Introduction
The book is an excellent introduction to meditation due to the practice exercise to help a person determine if they wish to pursue this practice further. Must be done with a serious approach to reap the benefits that the exercises can impart about the practice of meditation. I found this book extremely helpful in guiding me into the art of meditation, the book I would highly recommend for anyone considering furthering their pursuit of more meaningful meditation.
