If you want the thinnest Fountain pPen line, This Is It!
I wish this was my 1st pen purchase, but 25 pens later I finally found The One.I'm going to write as if you know about fountain pens because only a seasoned enthusiast is looking at spending the money on this PO nib.I wanted a fountain pen replacement for Uni 0.28 rollerball that wrote like mechanical pencil 0.5 2B lead. I have them all, Sailor PGS EF, Pilot Kakuno EF, Pilot Custom 74 EF, Pilot VP Decimo EF JOWO & Bock EF, Platinum 3776 UEF. Nothing touches the Pilot #10 PO nib as the reigning king of thinnest line width. And it's smooth! Platinum UEF & Pilot VP have tooth, Pilot Kakuno/Metro EF + JOWO/Bock have feedback. This is the smoothest of all my EF nibs, with a touch of feedback. Almost to smooth for me as I start to lose some control. I'm not talking to you "buttery" people tho, you're not looking for a ultra fine nib.Its resin and light, rounded edges everywhere. Comfortable section for my Asian Medium Cadet hand size. Balanced writer posted or unposted, I prefer posting but often use this pen unposted. Nib is bend down to prevent the tines from flexing and affecting the line width. Consistent line in every direction.Even using Platinum Carbon Black which tends to put down a thicker line then my other pigment/ IG inks, this PO nib is still my thinnest writer. My favorite and most well behaved in this pen is Kiwaguro. It can handle every paper with no spread feathering ghosting or bleeding. but haven't tested if it can write on smooth receipt paper yet. Blue Black fav is Platinum Blue Black and Souboku. If it can handle these dry permanent inks, it can handle any ink.The pen would be the same length as my Pilot 823 if it had round finials. Sword clip is cool, usable but stiff. I'm a clip user. Comes with a Con70 + 1 cartridge. That's my only negative remark as my converter was obviously used, maybe even switch out. But it holds ink for my pen to write so I don't dock stars as everything else about the pen's condition is mint. Packing could have been better too, but whatever, the pen came in 1 piece. If you're looking for the thinnest fountain pen line, you know who you are, buy this.Or the Pilot 742 has the same nib different body. The Pilot 743 uses a #15 nib and I assume it would be a #15 PO nib. My experience across the board is that larger nibs produce thicker lines, so #10 would be the thinnest.

insane
I currently own 10 Pilot fountain pens, all save one with gold nibs. I thought nothing would compare favorably to my prized metal Falcon with SF nib. Then I thought the 743 FA nib was the pen to end all pens...until I acquired the 742 with FA nib. The fact is, I am an artist, and I have finally found the tools I have been looking for for decades. The Falcons (I own three) replaced most of the dip pens I used to use for pen and ink work. This Custom Heritage 912, with PO nib, has replaced my favorite Rotring Isograph. Yes, sometimes I like lines with character, sometimes I want consistent lines. It depends on what I am doing.I have never used a nib that makes marks so fine, and yet moves so smoothly across a variety of papers, including my favorite, Strathmore 500 series Bristol. What makes the pen even more interesting, and useful, is the fact that you can make lines that are Sharpiesque in their thickness, using the back of the pen. The Falcons do this as well, but this does it better...MUCH better. This technique uses a lot of ink, but it is a brilliant facet of the tool. It means I don't have to interrupt my flow in order to grab a Sharpie or brush or marker to fill in large areas of ink.The nib is very, very stiff. I love it. It is like drawing with an Rotring Isograph .1, although I have not compared the lines they make directly. I do know, however, that it makes a finer and even more consistent ( I did not think this was possible with a fountain pen) line than my Pilot Custom 74 EF. That alone is worth the price of admission. Mine came with a con70 converter. This is a very good thing, as the con40 stinks, in my opinion. If you are an artist, and like the clear line style of illustration (e.g. Moebius), and like to do VERY FINE cross hatching, just buy it.For about $150, what's not to like? This pen is a BARGAIN at that price.Incredibly highly recommended. The Kwisatz Haderach of fountain pens.

The third party seller sent a return.
Outer box smelled like perfume and was dirty/worn, and so was the sleeve the pen came in (looked like it had been wrinkled up). Sleeve looked like it had been hastily cut with scissors. In my experience, pens come in a sealed sleeve, and the grey outer box should have a cellophane cover. Nib looked clean and properly formed, but the feed in back had what I can only assume was dried ink, under a 10X loupe. There is also a scratched/abraded area at the bottom of the pen.I decided to keep this pen, because the nib is perfect. After several pages of longhand, I am upgrading the rating to five stars (from the original three) for the benefit of Pilot. The pen is very well made, and writes beautifully. As for the third party seller - zero stars. That was a swindle.

Fantastic extra-fine pen
I tend to write small, and prefer very fine point pens - and this one is a new favorite. Pen body feels great in the hand, nib is very smooth and super fine, flow is consistent. Love everything about it.

Unique PO nib with a huge con-70 converter! Love it!
I LOVE an extra fine and smooth line! The Pilot Heritage 912 PO nib is an amazing fountain pen! I carry it in a Rickshaw case and haven't had any leaking whatsoever, despite it rolling around in my purse/bookbag everyday. The PO nib is a unique shape, hooking down at a different angle than any other typical nib size. I fill it with Yama Budo ink, and it writes silky smooth! Mine surprised me by coming with a con-70 converter already installed! Awesome ink supply to keep me writing for days, even though I write several A5 pages per day! Highly recommended for anyone who likes a thin line~

Pen deserves 5 stars, but…
The pen is great, I would rate it 5 star a, but the pen was shipped OUTSIDE of the protective case in plastic bag. The bag was fine, but the seller MUST change the shipping method.

Beautiful writer
Very fast delivery. Pen was extremely well wrapped. Pen is perfect. Came with converter and cartridge. I did have a (user) issue with the converter, but once I realized that I should keep the converter upright and not on an angle when filling, I got a perfect, full fill. The posting nib writes very well and as super fine as I’d wanted. I definitely would recommend this pen and company if you’re looking for a Pilot pen.
