It's Doing Well
This Digital Audio Converter (DAC) with remote does exactly what I wanted. And works well. Set up time was only taking it out of the box and making the connections. It was only when I transferred my 2020 Samsung TV from the living room (where the sound was outputted to my 5.1 surround receiver/speaker system by a Toslink/optical cable), that I discovered that the TV did not have either headphone or RCA analog audio out. Rather than listening with the TV's tinny sounding built in speakers, I wanted to use a higher end set of computer speakers with subwoofer that needed 3.5mm headphone jack as its analog audio source. This DAC device, with its optical/Toslink input and a 3.5mm output port, was the solution. I needed a remote to control the volume from bed which this DAC has. (Many DAC converted do not have remotes. ) A few items to note: 1) This DAC does not have a power switch. I have a workaround which connects the the power on/off when I turn on/off the TV. Power consumption is not listed in the specifications, but I would think power draw is very little. So probably no big deal if always on. 2) The supplied power cord is pretty short. Only 3-4 feet. Plan on using an extention cord 3) The +/- volume buttons on both the remote and the unit itself are not continuous. Holding down on volume button (like we do for a TV) does nothing. Rather each single push of the buttons moves the volume up/down an incremental step. Actually for TV I find this preferable. Push up from zero volume and the TV volume is barely noticeable. Next click up is just right for being able to hear, but in the background -- unless actively listening. Next clip up is very low normal. You get the idea. There are a total of 10-12 volume increments. Your result depends on the volume setting of amplifier you are using. I have not checked to see if power output is enough to drive headphones to a reasonable level. The remote's mute button mutes instantaneously. 4) The signal from the remote is IR. So if you have a IR learning remote as the primary, you can transfer the DAC functions over to that. In my case, I use a learning remote for my TV. I assigned DAC's volume +/- and mute buttons to the learning remote. Controls the audio exactly the same as if the TV's speakers and the original remote. Summary: This DAC works will and does has the features described.

Sends loud "booms" through speakers well after shutdown of inputs
I had two problems with this unit. First, the sound was slightly distorted in the output; second, after first use, when I shut off all my equipment for the evening, it started emitting loud "booms" through the speakers every minute or so. I thought someone was breaking into my house: they were that loud. When I checked, the unit was apparently attempting to turn on and/or seek an audio input source "on its own." It goes back today.

Description of connections not complete
I asked the company what type cable and connector should be used on the Coax input connector and did not get a specific answer with an example.

Interesting concept, but didn’t work well.
Worked well for a short time, but then started to intermittently cut out with heavy static through intact sound.Returned this unit, and bought another brand for the same disappointing results. Ended up returning my analogue speakers, and just bit the bullet and got some digital ones.

Compact metal case, commands learned by universal remote
This audio converter works nicely with plenty of infrared remote range. My Sofabaton universal remote easily learned the volume commands. As otherwise noted the volume control doesn't have many steps between loudest and softest but it's enough steps to be comfortable for me.

Failed after 14 days.
This product failed after just 14 days of use. The audio changed from true sound to a digital pulsing. Contacted manufacturer... no response.Returned for refund.

Works great
Works as intended. Very solid structure. Volume increments and decrements in large amounts which minimizes your button clicks. Only small concern I have is that the remote IR isn't the best, but can be worked around by mounting it in a smart place.
