I really don't dislike any part of the vacuum chamber it does it's job . And I really like what it does and the see thru top

1) Vessel has no handles2) Hose is only 40"

Update 6/21:Almost a year later and this has stood up to weekly use and abuse degassing plastisol, stabilizing wood, and degassing resin. The hose is still as good as new, and other than being a little dusty from sitting out on my bench, this vessel still holds a vacuum. No leakage, no wearing out of the silicon gasket, and no cracks that others have complained about. My initial assessment still stands: this is a fantastic value for the money and if I ever need another one, I'd buy this again in a heartbeat.Original Assessment 8/20:Great vacuum chamber for the price. I use it to degas plastisol for making soft plastic lures. Chamber easily fits two 2 cup pyrex measuring cups and holds a seal for hours. Gauge and valves are better than I expected. Hose is plenty strong and flexible for my needs. I use a standard a/c vacuum pump and I'm able to draw -30inHg vacuum. If I ever break it, this is the one i would by again to replace it. It comes with silicon washers for sealing the manifold, but i did add teflon tape for piece of mind. A great buy. I didn't need to purchase any additional adapter to get this to fit my H. Freight pump.

The media could not be loaded.  Works great. Was a little nervous about the lid from some of the reviews. I decided to take the risk figuring I could easily just cut a new lid if it does break. Comes with some o-rings and some back up pieces. Really like the double valve to pull air and hold vacuum. This definitely takes some of the stress off of my vacuum pump. I imagine some of the cracking in previous reviews is due to over tightening of the valve manifold or pulling much more of a vacuum than I am working with. I snugly tightened the bulkhead but let the o-rings serve their purpose. Happy with it!

Works great. Easy setup and holds a really good deal. Had wood soaking for three days to get it to penetrate all the way through and didn't lose any pressure. Perfect size for knife scales and my pen blanks.
