Hug Your Mug!
I adore this mug! A friend brought me one from Portland (where they're made) as a gift a few years ago and when I sadly broke it last year (my fault, not the mug's!) I immediately went in search of a new one and was very happy to find them on Amazon. The color and design on both of my mugs has been beautiful and the colors don't fade at all even after a few years of use. I really love being able to tuck my hand into the nook when it's chilly and I'm having tea as much to hug the warm mug as to sip the tea!Just be warned that when your beverage is extremely hot you won't want to wrap your hand around the mug and into the groove as it'll be extremely hot in there. You can easily grab it by the outer part of the handle until it cools down, though. I'm attaching a photo (the sideways one - sorry!) of how I hold it for the couple minute's it's too hot to wrap my hand inside so you can see what I mean. I wouldn't want a mug I always had to hold that way but it works for the minute or two it's necessary! If I make coffee with a little milk I can tuck my hand in from the start, but if I've just poured boiling water straight in it'll need as long as it takes my tea to brew plus another minute or two before I can comfortably wrap my hand around and into the groove (which is how I'm holding it in the other photos). The only other downside is that if you're cleaning it by hand you need to be conscious to get your sponge or whatever all around the bottom inside. This is especially true if you're drinking something like hot cocoa that might leave a little gunk at the bottom. This is because the groove for your hand pokes into the middle of the mug so you have to maneuver the sponge around that. The photo of the inside of the mug should give you an idea what I'm talking about.

Great for the colder months
I purchased the left-handed mug, but use it frequently in my right as well. It definitely works, you just don’t get as much warmth from the mug. I have long fingers so a deeper groove would be perfect. My nails scratch against the inside and it doesn’t always feel secure. The shape is not the easiest to clean, but if you don’t leave liquids sit for a long time, it’s quick.I’m happy with the mug and colors. It has the artist’s name and year on the bottom. I purchased one for a friend who enjoys hers as well. I purchased one for $15 and the other for $20.

Unique~
This is a unique design and concept, but not really practical in reality. I'm not sure why I thought it would be more insulated when the liquid was hot; it's obviously ceramic. As a result it's too hot to put your fingers in the "warmer" at first, making it a little awkward to hold. HOWEVER, it's an interesting design, and I think more peole purchase it for the novelty and beauty of it rather than for the hand warming properties.

I am so glad to have found this mug
Oh my gracious! I am so glad to have found this mug. Years ago, I had a hand thrown clay mug that I loved dearly. (Brown Clay Coffee Mug, BCCM, for short). I cherished the BCCM. It was large enough that it held 16 oz of coffee. It had a fantastic weight, a nice thick lip, and the handle was large enough I could slide all four fingers through to cup the mug. About 6 years ago, my dear BCCM found it was no match for my tile floor when it fell to its death. I have been in mourning ever since. I have purchased many mugs over the past few years trying to find a perfect replacement for my beloved BCCM. It has become a running joke with family and friends that during every vacation, we spend at least an hour's combined time searching for a coffee mug to meet my standards. We find one that we think will be okay, I'll use it 2 or 3 times, only to realize that I don't like it and end up giving it to one of the aforementioned family and friends. I don't know that any one of them will ever need to purchase another coffee mug again.Several weeks ago, one of my friends sent me a picture of one of my passed on mugs, stating that it was still *her* favorite. This caused us to once again get talking about how I was still on the hunt for a replacement for the BCCM. She recently became familiar with your product and sent a link to me with the thought that it might work. I immediately ordered this mug and I love it! The only complaint I can come up with in comparison to the BCCM is that the thickness of the mug is still thinner than I would like but everything else makes up for the small difference.I'll always have a special place in my heart for the BCCM (especially because its demise became such a running joke) but a bit of that hole is now filled with my GCCM!

The Gift of Warmth
This year for Christmas I decided to give the gift of warmth. I purchased 5 of these handwarmer mugs for my nephews and niece and their spouses (along with a variety of hot cocoas and hot spiced apple cider). My mugs were promptly shipped and received within 10 days of ordering. Each one was packed perfectly and each one was in 100% perfect condition. They are a great size, of substantial weight, perfectly shaped for your hand and painted and glazed to perfection. Will be ordering more for my husband and myself.

My favorite mug
I adore, adore, adore the Clay in Motion Hand Warmer Mug. I've gotten so many for gifts for other mug lovers in my life. Truly a great quality product and beautiful glazing. It fits very well in my hands and is cozy to hold and sip from. The beverage may get a little cold if sitting out for a while but I personally use a small candle warmer that plugs in and set it on there and it stays toaster as can be. Obviously, use caution when putting your hand into the pocket of a newly poured beverage as it may be a little too warm to the touch (like any other mug!) Price is worth if for the quality and beauty of the mug.

This is a really pretty piece. Keep coffee warm for a little while longer then normal mug. The wall where your fingertips touch when you put them in the handle is quite thin though and often too hot to hold them there when you pour fresh hot coffee in it. It does break if it falls on the counter from a cabinet, FYI. Had to replace it when my roommate broke it haha
