Not worth the headache of draining your pond after use.
If your pond has a black liner, this is not the product for you. I purchased this with the hope that my water would look blue but unfortunately it lasted one day. Two days at best before it made my pond a hunter green and I was unable to see my fish unless they were at the top. I moved the water and fish to a white container and the water was pristine but as you can see in the photograph. This is not a true blue hue and look green.

yellow water and blue dye make green pond
I have recently turned my pool into a pond and the plants are too small to shade it so it's getting algae. Losing one point because I had to leave Amazon and go to manufacturer's website to find out if it provided any UV shade. It does...but they should have mentioned that here on this page as well as on the bottle.According to the directions, I would need 7-8 oz. My pond had a yellowish-green cast to the water (before photo) and after reading the reviews of so many people getting green, I was leery. I started off with three oz and it turned a gorgeous shade of turquoise. I added another 2 oz and it turned a gorgeous shade of teal green, another 2oz made it a gorgeous shade of emerald green. In hindsight, it makes sense that I would get green as yellow water and blue dye logically would make green. Lose another star for not mentioning this on the bottle or this Amazon page either.I have no way of knowing if it's blocking enough UV to stop the algae from growing till the plants get bigger. The fish had no issues with it. It does not make the fishes appear different colors, which surprised me, my white ones still look white under all that emerald water. It is a gorgeous color, it's just not blue. It is a clear color, you can still see every little thing on the bottom.Lose third star because I didn't want an emerald green pond and therefore would not buy this again.

HORRIBLE
I am a frequent Amazon shopper. I have never left a bad review on Amazon until now. This stuff if horrible! I used the recommended amount and it turned my pond a nasty dark green. It has rained like crazy (spring, rainy season) and the color still hasn't faded.

Really works
Really works to keep UV rays off pond and keep algae growth down, plus it looks gorgeous. Be careful to not get on hands or clothes as it can stain. Will not stain rocks or plants or fish, though when diluted in the body of water.

Love the color!
I add this to both my outdoor fountain, as well as to my waterfall/pond areas. Adds a nice touch to both, and actually helps shield my koi from direct sunlight, while decreasing algae.

Dont bother save your $$$
I never leave reviews sorry to busy. I have to say I added about 30 drops into a 50 gallon pond and it went blueish for about 10/ mins. I'd suggest buying blue food dye at the $1 which works way better .... Horrible quality ...buyer beware

One Star
Find that the dye doesn't last as long as some other brands. Need to apply often
