It gets great reviews for ingredients and nutrition for kittens, liked that. As a pate it's not too thick, kitten swallow s it easily and likes it. It's better priced than other brands not as well rated. Went on sale, I stocked up. Also does not have a strong odor.

Salmon Extravaganza – A True Treat for our Scottish Fold
We have a very picky eater at home - our male Scottish Fold, Tobby. Over the years, we've tried countless cat food brands, but nothing fully satisfied his royal taste buds. That is until we stumbled upon the Chicken Soup for The Soul Classic Wet Cat Food – Salmon Dinner in Gravy Recipe Shreds. From the first can, it was a game-changer! Toby simply can't resist the mouth-watering salmon shreds and delicious gravy it's smothered in. The moment we pop open a can, he comes running, meowing joyfully, and dives headfirst into his meal – something we've never witnessed before. The fact that it's made with real salmon and no artificial flavors or preservatives makes us confident that we're providing our fur baby with high-quality, nutrition-packed food. Moreover, the shreds are just the right size to enjoy comfortably – he doesn't struggle to eat them as he did with other brands. We've noticed a visible difference in Toby's energy levels, and his coat has become much glossier since switching to Chicken Soup for The Soul Classic Wet Cat Food. It's heartening to see our boy thrive on this scrumptious salmon dinner. In conclusion, if you're looking for cat food that satisfies your cat's palate and provides them with excellent nutritional value, look no further. Chicken Soup for The Soul Classic Wet Cat Food – Salmon Dinner in Gravy Recipe Shreds has won Toby's approval and ours too!

My cat gobbles it up
My cat love this food. It has really helped him as he's getting older. He's 8 now and we transitioned him to this formula due to weight concern. Love the fact that it targets both weight and age.

Very high in carbs… feed sparingly.
This would get 5* if it wasn’t so high in carbs. There’s no need for the oatmeal or brown rice. It brings the carbohydrate percentage to around 24-25% and a kitten needs half that. If the company removed those two ingredients they’d have a lot more customers. I’m in a huge group on Facebook about proper cat/kitten nutrition and this one gets asked about a lot. The cabs are always what make it a pass.I use it very occasionally in our rotation of foods and only half the can. My kittens do love it, I don’t know what the smell complaints are about. All cat food has a smell.

Choose wisely....as this isn't for all cats....
Not all cats love this. But the one's that do, will go out of their way to get to it. The ingredients are better than what some animal food suppliers offer. In this case, since it is designed, primarily, for senior cats it is not actually for kittens or younger cats. But they will, if given the chance, go for it. Good choice for dietary considerations and overall health reasons. It's a good choice to have available if you are considering giving medications and using this to 'hide' the meds. I'm no feline gourmet, but when the cat-dish is out there, they seem to want it without hesitation.

No gravy
The produce was ok at best. More like brown mystery meat with little to no gravy. Disappointing. Cats lick off the little bit of liquid and leave the rest. This is a hard "No!" For me and a waste of my money.
