I ordered this and wound up using it within a week when my power went out. I bought it for my storm shelter (all metal walls) and it's almost overkill for the shelter it's so bright. Anyway, when my power went out, I attached the magnet to the metal on a ceiling fan in the family room. No kidding, I didn't need anything else at all for light! It was as bright as I would normally have the room in the evening. I'm ordering more so I can have them for each major room in case of an outage. I don't know how long it lasts, but I had it on 100% of the time on the brightest setting all evening (from about 6 PM to about 11 or 12). It was still going strong! If you're on the fence, don't hesitate. You'll get your money's worth.

These are very nice motion activated lights. Nice size to fit under shelves. Bright. Works as advertised, i.e. they turn on when they detect motion. They turn off promptly when no further motion is detected, extending their life before they have to be recharged. I misread one of the question and answers. And hoped/wanted the light to be able to be turned on continuously, alas, NOT. The on/off switch turns them entirely off (not motion activated) or on (i.e. motion activated). Whatever, I will find a place for them in the house. Be careful to store the recharging cables somewhere you will remember and not lose them between charging. lol.

While this light worked, the magnet did not hold on any metal surface. I would not recommend this product

The charge lasts a long time; At least a few days with intermittent use. The magnets can be stronger, but the hanging strap helps with that. I would mostly likely recommend this product to anyone looking for a bright, yet transportable light source.
