Every day watch
Chch The right size! Not a giant watch face, and round face I prefer. The best all around, everyday watch I have ever had. Almost indestructible! Being a carpenter for 40+ years, I've never broken one while working. The push button on face for light is a good feature. 5 stars definitely!

VERY ILLUMINATOR-y
This watch is an affordable serving of awesomesauce! I admit it, I'm a cheapskate when it comes to watches. I want my daily wear watch to be cheap, tell the time, glow bright blue when I press a button, tell the time, not cost a lot of money, and be easy to set the time. Oh...and tell the time. This watch excels at all of those requirements, and does it FLAWLESSLY. This is the third one of these I've owned. When the battery dies, I just buy a new one. I once tried to replace a battery in a Casio watch but I was not able to close it tightly enough to maintain the waterproof seal and a few showers later, it was kaput. The Casio service centers charge $30 for repair, so why bother when you can get a new one for under $20? Previous to this current one, I owned 2 93H-1AVs. There was one small step in the programming of that model which was nicer than this one, but it was so minor I don't even remember it anymore. The downside of those two (purchased at the most giantest retail Mart of Wals that is every retail snob's favorite store to hate - before we were subscribed to Amazon Prime (which is why I bought this one thru Amazin' Amazon)) was they had a "sport" wrist band that was part woven fabric, which stayed wet for a couple hours after getting out of the shower. The band on this W87H-1V is plastic/rubberized so no issues with getting the cuffs on long sleeve shirts wet getting dressed after a shower. The battery in these watches seems to last about 4 years with an average of 1-2 ILLUMINATOR button presses per night. I HAVE used this watch to read by in a perfectly dark room. That's how bright the ILLUMINATOR is. Another reviewer also wrote a bit of genius about this watch: "the great big, easy-to-find-when-half-asleep button that operates the light." AMEN and thanks for that bit of wisdom, stranger55 "Fred"!

Great watch
I've used this watch for many years, probably decades. I'm hard on watches but this one takes the abuse. It's less than $20, lasts for several years, keeps good time, has a backlit screen for easy reading in bad lighting. It doesn't last forever, so I need to get a new one every few years, but I never look for another model, I just buy another of these Casios.

Unbeatable for the money
I have had this Casio model watch for longer than I can remember. It has withstood constant shocks from doing carpentry, working on my motorcycle and the constant work required to keep a house built in 1885 in decent condition. I bought a new one of this model because a quick search showed the replacement band costs as much as the watch. Shortly after ordering the new watch I found a good band at a very reasonable price. So now I have a spare in case the old one finally succumbs after going through three bands and two battery replacements. Despite its hard life I found I could polish up the plastic lens and case to the point it almost looked as good as its new twin. Casio should be proud.

"Retro" Casio at a wearable size
I like the idea of a "retro" Casio, like the infamous F-91W, but that model is just too small for my wrist... and I also prefer round watches.I purchased this watch on an impulse after I read that it was originally introduced in 1996 (the birth year of my son) and still used the electroluminescent backlight that Casio is phasing out. The 45mm size wears more like 40-41mm, it's thin enough to slip under a cuff, and the backlight is great. The watch is very light, and the watch and band are very comfortable on the wrist. Functionality is simple (like the F-91W): time with 12/24 hr display, daily alarm, stopwatch with split-time, and backlight with afterglow... there is no timer, no dual-time or world time, no auto-light, etc., and the slightly domed acrylic crystal has no protection from getting scratched (and can have some crazy reflection issues occasionally). As a side note, the alarm and hourly chime are loud in comparison to most Casios. With the F-91W currently selling for $22, paying a few bucks more for a larger, round size and a functional backlight is acceptable, but realistically this should be selling for $16 like the W-219H.

I love my new watch!
I had one just like it, got it for a Xmas present and the spring came off one side. I did try to find a new spring for it at Walmart but they couldn’t find one, so I bought a band for it but that wouldn’t work either so I bought a new one, now I have an extra watch and band hopefully this one will last as long as my first one. I had the old one for many years!!! You can’t go wrong with this watch!!! It does have a rubbery strap it’s not hard it’s soft! Very comfortable!
