Great little burner!
Have used this burner several times and think it's great. Simple, compact, and as sturdy as a brick house. I use mine in an old Sterno folding stove. The stove provides both a wind break and a large, stable surface to place a pot or skillet of any size over the Esbit burner. The simmer ring works very well and doubles as a snuffer . Being able to save any unburned fuel with the o-ring equipped cap makes for great fuel savings. Get one, you'll be glad you did.

Worked better than imagined!
After a test run before hitting the trail. This work flawlessly! It is simpler than my MSR whisperlight and is perfect for backpack camping. It heats well, I like the wired handle on the flame regulator/ flame snuffer. This is a nice improvement over the Tangia. Brass construction and fits well in the Esbit Ultralight Folding Stainless Steel Pot Stand. It is lightweight and compact. It goes without saying that alcohol stoves put out an near invisible flame during the day. Be smart and know what is going on. If you forget, you can catch something on fire or burn yourself. Be smarter than the average bear! LOL

A beautiful piece of gear ... but
Update: The O-Ring seal on the lid is not liquid tight. If not on a level surface, fuel leaks out. So do not store unit with fuel inside. A very unfortunate weakness on an otherwise nice piece of equipment. Because of the safety concerns, this cost it a star.Just spent the weekend using this on a camping excursion, and it worked great. I used it inside the Solo Backpacking Stove to provide wind protection and a pot stand. They make a good combo: The alcohol burns far more cleanly than wood (no soot!) and it's easier to control the heat, but you can always fall back to wood. There's just one nit worth mentioning: the hole punched for the hinge on the lid is large enough that if the stove is at full burn when you drop it down, the flames will continue to shoot up through it. A word of caution, but not enough of a flaw to lose a star. You can't add fuel while it's burning, like some others, but when filled completely, I've never had to do that to get a pot of water boiling. And finally, I think it's a beautiful piece of gear. The brass is shiny and withstands the heat well. It's heavier than aluminum, but lighter than stainless steel.

Good for heating clean drinking water.
I’ve found the items that I have purchased through Amazon have nearly always arrived ahead of their ETA. I really like that! For this I give you five Stars. The Alcohol stove is ok it will do for what I'm needing it for. I’m a little disappointed I used 70% isopropyl alcohol and found it somewhat hard to light, I haven’t tried the 95% isopropyl alcohol so I can’t say if that would be better. It stands to reason it would. I found the flame was too easy to blow out and I was having difficulty getting the flame to come out the small manufactured holes at the top outside edge of the threaded lid area. It took a long time to heat a 12oz cup of water so I’m thinking I wouldn’t want to have to boil water on this thing because it will take forever. Also if the outside air temp is very cold it will be difficult for this type of stove to achieve boiling temp. I really don’t think that was the intended design of it any way. If your after something small light weight for heating water for hot coco or instant coffee and out of the wind this item will do.

I used 91% isopropyl in mine and it worked great. The fire flares up higher than anticipated and ...
Wow such a power house in such a small package. I got this as an alternative for cooking while car camping and for a possible future kayak camping trip yet this saved my butt recently when I was tent camping and the temps dropped about 20 degrees below what was expected over night. I awoke to temps in the high 20's! My butane was too cold to use and wouldn't fire up in my portable stove but this little guy saved me by quickly heating my water for coffee. Once I have coffee in the morning I can function again! So very small and handy. I used 91% isopropyl in mine and it worked great. The fire flares up higher than anticipated and did leave some sooty marks on my pots but that quickly cleaned up later and who cares as I got my coffee in very short order! Can't wait to use this again next week camping and I"ll be using it for more than coffee this time. The flow/damper cover with handle makes this mini stand out from others to me! The small size and versatility make this something I won't be caught without while camping again!

Great little stove - just don't be in any sort of hurry. This thing takes quite some time to boil a half liter of water. Simmer control is cool, however you have to have the correct pot stand for it to be advantageous. I am using a Evernew Ti Cross Stand which is great for weight and space savings, but will not allow the use of the simmer control with it. I DO NOT store alcohol in the stove when not using it, so I cannot speak to the seal on the lid. All-in-all worth it for a light weight, well made alcohol stove. All of that being said, I have a cat can stove that boils water in half the time, and is MUCH lighter. Something to think about...

Great burner. Doesn't leak. Boils water quickly. Light weight and compatible with all of my folding/packable stoves. Definitely would buy again.

works great
I, like many others have tried the cheaper ones and while they all look the same there is a difference.I have found the Esbit works well and seems to "bloom" quicker than the others I have .It gives off a lot of heat and probably uses a bit more fuel to do it .I have used it several times to make tea.
