WordPress For Dummies

First I must say I love for dummies books! They simplify information that would otherwise make my head explode! I am a scientist, put me in a lab or hospital and I am at home, however, computers and webpages and I am lost!WordPress for Dummies is a great reference guide in managing and maintaining your WordPress website. This book provides a detailed run-through in helping with your self installed/hosted version of WordPress website You will learn to set up your WordPress.org account, choose a host and much more. It was interesting learning about the different versions of WordPress...hosting, self-hosting. With WordPress for Dummies you will learn to create a blog to suit your needs, from installing and setting it up, to adding files and plug-ins to customize it. All in all, I am pleased with all the tips this book provided and the visuals that made it easier to understand.I do feel that I, personally, will need to read this book again and definitely use it as a reference tool but it did give me the knowledge to begin confidently. I highly recommend this book as a great guide to WordPress.I received this book free for my honest and unbiased review. All opinions are my own based on my own personal experience.

I started my WordPress blog about 3 years ago, and let me tell you, there is a ton I need to learn yet, especially after reading through WordPress For Dummies. This book is over 400 pages long with great detail on how to get your WordPress site up and running and keeping it running to your liking. When they say for Dummies, they mean it, everything is broken down to help make it easier for everyone. I will not lie, there are some parts I am still a little confused on, but from what I have read so far, most of it makes sense. I have not finished this book yet, but will need to make sure I do, to get the best out of my site.I received this product for free in exchange for my honest opinion

This book is an all encompassing book on using word press. I am fairly tech savvy but not a super tech. I have to say I think this book lacks clear explanations for the normal non super tech person. It was good for the very basics like downloading and installing word press. But there was a lack of a good explanation of design elements and kind of the middle skills you would want for wordpress. It seems though that if you really know what you are doing this is probably a great resource.

I worked with WordPress a few years ago. I bought this book as a "refresher" course and it filled that role quite well. There were, perhaps, a few instances in which the author assumes you have some knowledge that a person new to WordPress may not possess. Like other books in the "Dummies" series, the book is easy to read, full of examples, and light-hearted in its approach. If you are looking for a "how to get started with WordPress" book, this would be a good choice.

Wordpress can be very overwhelming but once you know it ,it is the best thing ever. Being a blogger ,I am constantly changing layout on my blog , and i need to know how to do it. this book Wordpress for dummies is for newbies as well as pros. it is explained in easy english and every chapter has been touched in detail, from setting up pages to the kind of template I like or what will suit my niche, everything is explained in Wordpress for dummies .It is a pretty thick book and it explains in detail with lot of pictures and tips.I highly recommend this book.I was provided this book for free in return for my honest opinion.

Excellent primer for those intending to use the open source software to develop website; but WordPpress software platform doesn't obviate the need for blog or site hosting, There are more requirements than simply WordPress to publish effectively on-line.

This book is one way to get a degree of familiarity with WordPress. However, the title and content descriptions are misleading. The focus is on blogging, and not on using WordPress as a Content Management System, i.e., web page design tool. There is another title that has CMS focus, and the descriptions should have allowed a customer like me to be clear about which book addressed my needs. The CMS topic is almost a throw-away in this volume, and it is just the content I was expecting from the description and book cover. I was misled.

Not completely through it yet, but it is easy to read.

Excellent for anyone wanting to learn about creating a self-hosted Wordpress site. I have found it really helpful even though I have had a Wordpress website for 18 months. I was able to make adjustments and make my site better through using this book. It's good for cover to cover reading or for dipping into to learn about specific points of interest.

Very well ordered and mostly good explanations but still quite a lot of the coding that this dummy at least still found difficult.

Very useful book, I have found it very helpful for my needs as a new blogger. Is a good guide with clear diagrams.

Good Dummies book as usual
