The weight is great for a day out with the family picking up small items but will not pick up a 1,000 lbs object.

Anyone could pull this off of my refrigerator. It is extremely hard to pull off of my 100yr old steel anvil however, and it easily picks up the anvil while you struggle to get the magnet off of it.I hated this magnet till I tried it on real solid steel.Will it pick up a waterlogged fridge? Probably not. Will it pick up a piece of railroad track? Absolutely. Guns and knives too.This magnet is great. Don't underestimate it based on use on a weak mild steel.

There isn’t a magnet in the kit. I thought I was ordering a magnet fishing kit. A kit should be complete.

Like I had said, can't see mich if anything wrong with the magnet. I have not much experience or expertise on magnets, but it'll pull up some stuff alright. As for the hook, that seems decent for a cheapie hook. The "caliber" or whatever it was called, the actual clip that connects the rope to the magnet, is pretty bad. Just very, very cheap. Along with the rope. The rope will doubtibly break or rip, seems okay for a cheap rope. But the knot they used was very basic. To the point I'd fear it slipping out of the knot and loosing the magnet. The gloves are the cheapest and thinnest pair I've ever worn. So those are just a 7 cent add on out of their pockets. So yeah. All in all, you get a solid magnet with decent build quality along with the hook being close to the standard of the magnets quality with a handful of cheap crap. Crap that will get you bye, but still, basically crap. I'm sure they're just trying to appeal to the shopper like myself, not wanting to buy a $100 starter kit for a hobby that idek if I'll get into heavily. So theyake the price more appealing and allows me to take the chance with more comfortability. I can respect and understand that. So again, magnet is great, gloves and others are just eh. So I'd recommend the magnet and brand, just buy it separate and get some gloves and (maybe?) A hook from the hardware store with some strong rope and you're solid!

Haven't tried it in the water but clamped it to an old heavy lamp in our yard, had to kick it off the pole 😂 will give update for use in water, hook seems made well but not extremely rugged! Am pleased out of the box and have already set my thread locker.

So far it's worked great. It's done what it's supposed to and I enjoy using it. Rope is durable, I don't have to worry about it breaking or coming loose. The eye bolt carabiner hooks work good. Definitely use the thread lock. The carabiner is metal so itll occasionally get stuck to the magnet itself but not a huge issue. It'll be a good addition to a larger magnet fishing set. I don't believe it has the pulling power that is advertises. Was barely able to pull up an old crowbar from the river. If it latches flat onto a surface of something large then maybe it could pull it up but it definitely struggles to pull anything slightly bulky horizontal across a river/pond floor. Struggles with anything heavier than 7-10 lbs that isn't connected with enough surface area. it did put up a good fight with a legth of heavy chain though. Does great for nuts, bolts, nails, fish hooks, etc...Overall: it's "ok" for the price. A good beginner magnet to get used to the sport. Would work great as a part to a larger set. Don't expect any DALLMYD level treasures with this one though. Good for (very) small items

Arrived on time. Everything was in there that the description said. I wish it would have come with a carrying case, but I could have ordered one with a carrying case. Haven't went fishing yet due to the fact I live in Minnesota and it's November.
