This kind of antenna is often written up as requiring modification to achieve any sort of decent performance with ADS-B.I decide to leave it unaltered and add a simple groundplane. Removing the plastic adhesive disc from the bottom of the antenna, it 'stuck' quite well to the small steel disc on which I mounted the copper radials.Connected to my Raspberry Pi based receiver and using a Radarbox ADS-B dongle, it is averaging 73nm with a maximum of 115nm daily, mounted internally to my roof which is made of concrete tiles, about thirty metres above sea level.Really, surprisingly good performance modified.Well worth buying

So this antenna was supplied without a magnetic base but instead came with a double sided pad for sticking the antenna to surfaces. Not too bothered by this as it was really only purchased to enable me to set up my Flight Aware system prior to purchasing a bigger outside antenna. I wanted to make sure that everything worked well before paying a lot more for the bigger antenna.Easy to install as its just a case of screwing it in.I am picking up aircraft at a maximum of 106nm so not too bad for the price.

This antenna is great, work for what I need it for (Flightradar Receiver). It comes with an adapter for smaller size connector and the cable length is great!

Performance of this antenna is fairly average. It does not appear to have resonance points at 50 ohm on any frequency although the SWR was the lowest (1.8) on both stated frequencies (978/1090Mhz @ 15ohm).Measurements were taken with antenna mounted on car roof, so ground plane requirements should have been met ok.In the end I chopped off the top coil, pulled the lower coil straight, and shortened the whip down to around 67mm. It now works fine at 1090Mhz with around 45 ohm impedance and SWR 1.1.As for the gain claim of 7dBi - no comment.A good buy for dual band reception, but don't expect too much!

Good strong reception for flight radar 24 flightaware indoors

I have used an RTL dongle to report APRS to FR24 for 8 years.My antenna for the last few years was the antenna supplied with the Dongle cut down to a quarter wave on a ground plane. I was regularly seeing 1500 planes again out to 150KM post Covid recently.I purchased this antenna to improve performance and so I placed it on the same ground plane as my quarter wave.Subsequently I saw no planes today beyond 50KM and so I have binned this item.It does not work, do not buy one.

Before I purchased this antenna I was receiving around 11 aircraft. After I installed this antenna I am getting over 40, (antenna is INSIDE my house).Superb antenna and highly recommended.

Used with SDR and performance was poor. Home made aerials cost less and had large improvements!

This is the antenna I started my ads-b adventure with. Average reception in +- 100 nm sometime recieving signal +- 200 nm far away. Installed it indoor in th attic, I live within 6km from an airport. Nice as a starter, to see if it your cup of tea. Didn't listen to cockpit/flight control chatter.

Comprata per ricevere segnali ADS-B e collegata a una ricevitore USB DVB-T funziona perfettamente. Ad oggi ricevuto segna fino ad un massimo di1 45 miglia nautiche.
