Wished I could give them zero stars - Wimpy product thanks to Diamond's desire to make money despite government regulation.
If by 'Strike Anywhere' they mean 'Strikes using the force and friction equal to skidding across a parking lot at 80 mph' then I think it's accurate.Let me say, that as an adult leader of camping groups, I know how to strike a match. There are two things wrong with this product that will result in me never buying them again:1) The matches won't strike anywhere (especially the side of the box) because there is not enough phosphorus on the tip. Tests showed that maybe 50%-60% will light on a surface that is slightly abrasive. They are really only a bit better than a safety match.2) The tips were so deficient, that we wore out the strike pad on the first 50 of 300.Now - I don't fully blame Diamond for this problem, As I found out from Ed Rogers Website: Diamond quit producing the Strike Anywhere red match with the white tip in January 2010. It seems the government classified them as dangerous products, band them from all commercial and cargo flights and restricted their ability to be trucked across country by requiring them to be shipped as hazardous material with special handling fees and red tape. Diamond sissified the match makeup to be able to ship them around the country.Either way, Diamond - bad product is bad product.

Very poor quality
Please Please do not buy these. Honestly do your self a favor and buy the strike on box ones or go for a different strike anywhere matches. The ones from these offer very very little "strike powder" the white tips of the match. I have opened all three of them and literally grouped them from small tips to large tips and for about every box I would only get like 60 large tipped ones. I would rather buy the UCO strike anywhere matches as they offer a more quality controlled portion. More than half of these matches are not even suitable for striking anywhere, it literally has a small ant sized tip to strike, what a joke this is.Once again please look elsewhere for better strike anywhere matches. I am not kidding you with the quality that I have received.

Cheap and Inferior - Don't Bother
Diamond should be embarassed to manufacture such an inferior product. This company's desire make the most profit through making the least functional product possible is so transparent it is laughable. I remember when diamond made matches large enough to carry in your shirt pocket and REALLY strike anywhere to light - the sole of your shoe, a brick on a building. Some guys would even do tricks by striking one on their teeth! Worked every time. This product should be labeled "Strike anywhere on the side of the box - ONLY" because that's the only place it will work on. The wood of the match is so thin, the head easily breaks off if you press too hard. The match head is so small it's a wonder it ignites at all. Don't even bother with this product. It's not the same Diamond match we once knew. Cheap and disgraceful.

These are not that great.
So I've had these matches for a few years now and I have to conclude that Diamond should concentrate on getting these matches to strike on the side of the box before they worry about striking "anywhere".If you're looking for something to replace your Ohio Bluetips from years ago, these aren't going to do it. I can't say I honestly remember correctly since I've had these for a few years, but I don't think I've ever gotten them to strike on anything other than the side of the box, and as I implied, it usually takes 3 - 4 strikes on the side before they will light. And, since there is so little lighting material on these matches, it's frequently a challenge between getting the needed number of strikes in before the material wears off and you have to toss the match. Also, I don't understand why they have a "speckled" striker pattern on the side of the box instead of the continuous strip that used to be on the side of match boxes - cheaper? While I don't have an old match box to compare it to anymore, I can only assume that a full striker on the side would increase the odds of a first strike ignition...

Garbage
I can't believe they charge $5/box of matches that DON'T STRIKE ANYWHERE. They work fine on the striker on the box, but if you plan on surviving based on needing these matches in an emergency, YOU ARE GOING TO DIE. Maybe one in ten matches will strike of a brick or a piece of hardwood. For the rest, the phosphorus (or whatever) on the tip will just slough off with no flame. The wood is very soft, almost balsa like. These are nothing like the strike anywhere matches I used in the Boy Scouts many years ago. It's been years since I bought a box. Very disappointed, especially given the outrageous price.

"Strike anywhere"... Good luck with that.
These are "strike anywhere" matches, but good luck with that. I haven't found a single surface (besides the striking surface on the matchbox) that will light these matches. And the striking surfaces on the matchbox wear out before you've used even 1/4 of the matches in the box. I've worn out the striking surfaces on all 3 boxes of matches and I haven't even used all the matches in one box yet.Not thrilled.Update 5/18/2018:Don't ask me how, but I found that a dog bone (one of the ones they sell filled with peanut butter) is the best surface to light these matches off of. I don't know why. And it's less than convenient because I don't usually carry a bone around with me when I'm camping. So these matches are used exclusively for lighting incense in the living room and a dog bone lives in the chest with the incense and matches now.

Hard to find strike anywhere matches
Due to safety becoming a huge factor in today's world, these matches have become very difficult to find and for someone like me they are a must own. Because these are strike anywhere matches I can use them in a pinch to actually reload my used primers for my ammo when I reload if I wasn't able to buy new primers. Besides this I don't need the box to be able to strike these matches to start a fire, a candle, or for any other reason I would need to light a match. Because these are stick matches, you still need to worry about them getting wet so keep them dry for them to work best.Pros: hard to find strike anywhere matchesCons: they're still matches that can break or get wet
