Gall Force: Eternal Story [DVD]

Gall Force: Eternal Story is the first installment for three Gall force movies, but even though that, you can consider it to be independent from the other ones because of some story elements which i will not discuses about it here so that i wont spoil the story for you guys. any how, Eternal Story is about 2 advance civilizations which are the "Solenoids" an all women race and "Paranoids" an alien humanoids race, who have been in a war for centuries. it all started with a mission for a Solenoid fleet to defend a new discovered planet called " Chaos" from the paranoids, but a damaged Solenoid ship called the Star Leaf is separated from the fleet, that ship had only 7 survivors, who decided in the end to complete their mission by heading to "chaos" to defend it themselves, and the movie follows them on their quest.will this is the overall story, but for me; i felt that this anime was trying to present a meaning for life in a different way, which you will find it in the end of this movie.in the characters department, i think it was lacking in some aspects, first, of all you have to guess who is the main character is! which might actually not be as bad as it sound, second, there is not much development for those characters, but that might be expected for a movie that wanted to focus more on the story itself, third, there is some annoying characters that you might hate, but also to make it better there is some great characters that make up for it.for the Art and sound, well it is good, i can't say more or less there, and in the end you might want to go watch the other two movies which i might include it in my next order.

It was like i remember it when i was i Child and watched it on vhs tape ( it was the 80 s people.Anyway i liked it then and i loved it now to.

My husband bought this I didn't watch it but he really like it because he bought 4 movies of the same name just different vol.

This is a great Anime movie which is basically a condensed version of the TV series.

Just wanted to add this classic Anime to my library. It's a good quality and played perfectly in my BluRay [it's a DVD, but still looked very good].

THIS MOVIE IS GOOD! The plot may be very confusing in the end,but I don't care. I have watched this movie a good few times and I have never got tired of it.It certainly does deserve 5 stars!

The surviving members of the Star Leaf's crew must also try to understand the meaning and significance of a bizarre precognitive dream they all share involving a mysterious Solnoid-like alien creature which could either be a Paranoid brainwashing and mind-controlling ploy or the key to ending the hostilities between the Paranoid and Solnoid races.The moon Chaos becomes the final battleground in the Paranoid/Solnoid war as deception, treachery, and the lust for power and military advantage overtake reason, diplomacy and visions of unconditional peace.Much more enjoyable in the 'English dubbed' version (which is something of a rare experience in anime DVDs), ''Gall Force: Eternal Story'' often catches you off your guard with where you think the story is going to take you and, in a manner much like in the ''SCREAM'' movies, messes with your head as it relates to who lives, who dies, and who the ''bad guys'' are.A bit more attention to detail could (should) have been paid to the animation itself, in my opinion, and a few things about the story could have been smoothed out as well (but hey... this IS ''Japanese Animation,'' after all), but apart from this feature film's only real problem of the 'fingernails-on-chalkboard' screeching of the original Japanese voice actors, this movie does not fail to deliver: It hooks you right away and reels you all the way in from the opening scene to the emotionally charged climatic ending. Don't push past this one.* * *
