Love this knife!
This is the second time I have purchased this knife. The first knife (which is still my go to knife) has been through it all and is still going strong. Bought another as a back up. On to the review. First let me say they have improved the knife since the original version. The 2.0 is much better.Pros -It's about 3/16 thick Aus 8 steel. You will probably never break this thing. The finish can take a serious beating without coming off!The Recurve blade does a great job at survival tasks. Due to the angle of the blade, making fire tender curls is super easy. Added some pics.Cons -1. The handle is a tad... to squared for me. May just be my hands.2. The spine is not sharp, so you can't use it to throw sparks from a ferro rod. That said, you CAN use the space just past the hilt and before the blade. It has a 90 degree angle and will throw sparks.Meh -The sheath is good, but could be better. You're paying for the knife.Mods - As Mykel Hawke encourages adaptation, I've adapted the knife to my uses.1. I added a notching saw back to the blade2. I put a 90 degree angle on the back end of the exposed pummel... throws sparks very well now. (took one try to start my fire)3. the tanto angle was removed by accident (not by me) so I rounded it off give it a belly.4. I added a bow drill divot to the handle5. I sanded the handle down a little to make it more rounded.Note: Even after I removed metal from the stock to make the saw, I Batoned, and abused it, and it took everything I put it through. This is a tough knifeI've added some pics.Bottom line... This knife is a great deal for the price. I own Tops, Becker, Cold Steel, and other knives, and when I go hiking I take my Mykel Hawke Peregrine.Edit: Wanted to address the sheath. Two ways to take it the next level. 1. Make a Kydex sheath for it. 2. Make a Kydex sheath liner to replace the one it comes with. Both solutions are not difficult, and will make a huge difference. Added a pic

Very good product for the price point.
You get a lot for the price with this knife. If it came with a better sheath I would have been happy if it cost $100.The knife is a pretty no nonsense tool (in a very good way). It's very durable. The size is a good compromise between a large blade and a back up knife size.We tested it out over the weekend to see how well it held up and I've got nothing but positives to say. It's kind of hard to understand how such a good knife can be purchased at such a low price. The knife is not quite comparable to my Esee and Tops knives but it's not too far behind. The sheath is nylon and not impressive. Not terrible but not very good.

Handle? G-10
Lots of questions about the handle, so see photo of actual package. Just received my second, gave the first to my daughter, and it is G-10. All of Hawke materials, including the package say G-10. That would be one big misleading statement if it's 100% injection molded rubber. Regardless, it is a nice, tight handle that is comfortable in hand. The sheath is better than average. It's very functional and should last. The knife is a rock star. Mykel Hawke says he designed it, I have to take him at his word. But it is a great design with a lot of functionality. We can't all afford a Hellion; this puts something similar within average financial reach. Good steel, great scales, sharp edge and thick spine. The spine is too rounded (from the coating?) to strike a ferro rod. So I dremmeled an edge on the back part of the spine. I just wish it included the socket on the scales like the Hellion.

Great bargain. For the price it's fantastic
Great bargain. For the price it's fantastic, great steel, above average handle, extra lanyard holes, amazing coating on blade. Honestly can be used for nearly any application. The sheath is total junk but the money saved there very clearly went to making the knife as best as they could.

Good buy
I find that the knife holds an edge well. Little bit difficult to sharpen but you get used to it. Very comfortable grip and feels very sturdy in your hand!
