I've owned this deck for more than 25 years
I felt connected to it i ways that I could never connect with the classic Rider-Waite, although the imagery is based on the archetypes from that deck. The colors are vibrant. The perspective is up close and personal, as opposed to the distant perspective in the aforementioned Rider-Waite. The borderless images invite you to feel like you're connected with the subject matter. The imagery is upbeat and easy to read, not dark, negative or "scary."I'm not a professional tarot reader. I used to read the cards a lot more 20 years ago. I still have the original companion book. I'm reacquainting myself with the practice of late, and the cards are as easy to read now as they were then.My girlfriend is just starting to learn to read cards. I bought her the centennial Rider-Waite-Smith deck. She wants a Morgan-Greer now. We're studying the cards together, comparing Rider-Waite, Morgan-Greer and the Light Seer's deck I bought for myself, suit by suit and card by card. It's been a good experience. If you're serious about learning to read tarot, this would be a good deck to work with, although the companion book is currently out of print. If you want dark and spooky for practical jokes, I hope your karma has a good sense of humor
