Who knew you could be so excited for sewing accessories?!
I’m a casual sewing hobbyist. Is it weird to get so enthusiastic over some pins and a magnetic pin block? Yes, but that’s where we are.I love this whole set: the magnet is pretty powerful, and the size is right to hold a large number of pins. I like how it’s a little concave, so the pins sort of nestle in, and you’re less likely to jostle one out and lose it. It’s heavy enough to feel sturdy, but not so heavy it’s a brick. Also, I’ve become a huge convert to the longer, flat-head pins included with the magnet. For over a decade, I’ve been using the shorter (standard, 1.5 inch-ish) pins with the round head. Using these longer (2 inch-ish) flat head pins makes pinning fabrics easier, as they lay flatter and cover more fabric. It feels downright bougie, and I love it.This product is an all around YAY from me, and I’m happy with the purchase. I would easily recommend this block and these pins.

Really strong magnet
This pin holder works great! It's small enough to set next to my sewing machine comfortably and the magnet is strong enough that I only have to get the pins fairly close to the dish before letting them drop from my fingers. They fly into the dish and align themselves for easy pickup. One thing to keep in mind, however, is that the magnet is VERY strong and you don't want to get it near things that would be harmed by the magnetic force (credit cards, for example). It will also magnetize your scissors and other tools if they get too close. It's not fun trying to pull straight pins off your scissor blades...

Pins tend to line up neatly in the middle
The media could not be loaded. I was pleased to find that the magnet was strong on the top of the pin cushion and weak on the bottom. The pins seem to be attracted to the middle of the pin cushion. It's so cool that the pins tend to automatically line up neatly in the middle versus being a pokey hedgehog. The pin pal came with about 20 - 2 inch pins. The packaging did not indicate the exact number. I purchased the blue pin pal, I would describe the color as more of a teal.

Strong magnets
Pin Pal magnetic pin cushions are the best. I have several and love them. I had a hard time finding them in the past and was so happy to find one for my daughter-in-law.

Love it!
It’s been one day and I already love this thing! It snatches pins right out of the air as long as I’m close-ish when I drop it. I’ve begun sewing clothes which takes a lot for pinning than my usual household repairs! I got tired of losing them in the carpet of my study (despite being as careful as I could be) and inevitably stepping on them. This is a wonderful solution.

Keeps track of my stuff
I use it for holding seam ripper and sewing awl, no more picking them off the floor. I have another for pins, more spilling pins all over the table and on the floor. It is also good for collecting spilled pins.
