Sleek, low profile headgear but with lower protection than other designs
This is my second set after my first one finally fell apart after wrestling in them for more than a decade. I've tried other styles, but I like these the best for their low profile design that allows me to be sleeker and avoid getting snagged when doing moves. However be warned that the earpieces sit right against your ear, and I have been hit hard enough to get cauliflower ear when wearing these. I value sleekness over protection; however, so consider these to provide lower protection than designs that fully surround the ear by a hard ear cup.Compared to my last pair, the latest model has a better foam cushioning on the inside that is soft and warm to the touch as opposed to the old plastic cushioning that was jarringly cold when you put the headgear on. They can be a little difficult to get setup due to the stiff plastic guards, but it is easier to do if the headgear are warm and pliable first. Once you get them dialed in they are comfortable and fairly secure, just make sure they are setup properly so that your head can't be forced up through the back opening of the headgear. People also have had problems with the straps slipping, so they tape up the straps to help avoid the problem. I use these with a Cliff Keen chin cup strap which keeps the headgear in better alignment on my head, prevents me from getting choked by my headgear strap, and protects my chin from getting all scraped up. They can also be used with a full face protector if necessary.Pros: sleek, low profile designdon't snag when wrestlingcomfortable if they fit your head typeCons: lower protection than other designsearpiece sits right on your earhard to adjuststraps sometimes come aparthead can pop up through the back if not setup properly

Solid head gear, low profile
This two strap Halo headgear is a classic, glad my HS son has switched over to it as even the four strap is sliding in today's boys with their longer hair. Very little movement with this classic design so the headgear doesn't slide forward onto the eyes during those aggressive matches. Additionally the seller's very responsive had a minor issue but they corrected it immediately 👍

It protects the ear.
I started wearing it nainly because I didn't want my Cauliflower to get any worse. At the time, it was still semisoft and I didn't want to stop training for god knows how long.Any how, the thing enabled me to go as hard as I wanted for as long as I wanted, keeping my ears safe the entire time.Only problem is the plastic cap tends to snap out whenever someone wraps their arm around my head/neck.

Low profile.
Same quality I remember from 20 years ago. Works great when you have a big head.

Dangerous product
The hard plastic cover on the headband can cause scratches and scrapes on you (especially if you are bald) or your partner. The edges of the plastic are somewhat sharp and can dig into skin fairly easy during normal use. The above picture happened the very first time I used the product. You can mitigate this risk by wrapping the headband up with athletic tape, but there are other less troublesome products out there.

The Best
This is the best headgear there is. The crappy cloth version doesn't do it justice. Glad these are on my kids than a lot of the other styles. Durable and minimalist.

Headgear
The new matman headgear works great for my son. Great product with regard to it being tighter, sleak fit.

returned it
Really stiff. Was looking for this style, but I thought this was more flexible. Was misshapen out of box and we couldn't get it to lay correctly. Returned.
