Bought to replace a similar item which was now reaching the end of days.Very happy with this and should last for years.

It's a pepper grinder and it does a great job of that BUT it should have been turned from one piece of wood or at least the three pieces that actually matched!!! Three pieces of lovely wood, of very different hues, spoilt by unimaginatively bringing them together! Grinds peppercorns perfectly ...

This meets the basic requirement of grinding peppercorns, and produces a fairly fine grain. The body is made up of multiple pieces of wood glued together, so isn't as attractive a a solid piece would be, but still not unattractive in appearance.UPDATE.After just over 4 months it no longer seems to produce much in the way of grains regardless of how tight you make it. Disappointed, and it's now abandoned for a Cole & Mason.

These mills have a variation in the wood colour which makes them more attative than plain wood in my opinion, plus the wood is acacia which is a healthy wood for food storage. It would have been nice if they were turned out of one whole block of wood rather than joined peices but the joins are seemless so its not a real problem, they would probably be more expensive if made from one solid block.The grinding mechanisms work well you can get a finer grind on the salt than the pepper but I am happy with them.The only negative I have is that being tall and thin they get knocked over easily which isn't a problem if you can give them their own space but if you have a small kitchen with lots of stuff like me then they will probaly end up getting knocked over regularly.

These look absolutely beautiful and are very easy to use although I’m not sure I’ve fully got the hang of the grinding size adjustment.
