Nancy Drew: The Palace of Wisdom

When I was a kid, I was a huge Nancy Drew fan. Nancy was a character that I looked up to. She was strong, she was smart, she was independent and she had just the right solutions for each and everything. Was there a reason to not to love her? Because even if there was, I could never find it. Hence when a digital version of this comic book was available on Netgalley, I made sure that I requested it. Thanks to the people at Dynamite Entertainment, I was selected and viola! Here I was, reading this tiny book on my train journey back home.Nancy Drew: Palace of Wisdom is the story of Nancy Drew when she returns back from River Heights to uncover the truth about her mother's death. Or was it her mother's death that she was supposed to find out about, really?What I loved most about this tiny book was seeing my favorite characters re-imagined as supercool teens who are just like us. They make mistakes, they get scared, they worry, they fall in love, they creep out with the idea of love and well, they are just super-duper-amazing! I guess that is why this book has a 4 rating as well. The story was simple, after all. I could predict the climax long before I read it so that wasn't an issue for me. Yet, seeing my favorite childhood characters in this form was a nice change. I hope to read more of Nancy Drew comics by Dynamite Entertainment, soon! :D

The story itself is lots of fun, the characterization and dialogue completely believable and hilarious, and the artwork is wonderful--every character is so expressive and has so much life.

This was amazing. I can't wait until the next book!I was never a big Nancy Drew reader when I was a kid, so I can't say how well this compares to the novels, but it was a really fun story and a neat little mystery.

I grew up reading Nancy Drew, and I'm a huge fan! I wasn't sure what I would think of the comic books. I had bought one and actually enjoyed it, and then saw that now they are all in one graphic novel. I loved it and can't wait to keep reading!

A return to Nanct Drew! It's been years since I've hung with Nancy Dre and the crew and it was everything I needed it to be and more. I cannot wait for my next adventure.
