A LOW BUDGET HORROR FILM WHICH IS WELL WORTH WATCHING!
Young Emily (an excellent SOPHIE STEVENS) arrives at an isolated, rather rundown house for her first shift to look after the lone resident, Arthur (NICK BAYLY), an elderly bedridden man ill with Alzheimer's disease. Her employer Paul (RAY MacALLEN) briefly outlines her duties – mainly to watch her patient via the video in an adjacent room – until her shift ends at 6AM the following morning.Alone in the house, Emily checks on Arthur and finds a bag containing several mysterious objects including a ouija board, candle and book of charms. With Arthur asleep, curiosity takes over and Emily begins to explore the vast house.Eerie things soon begin to happen. First doors open and close by themselves and objects change location. Things swiftly escalate with the sudden appearance of the ghostly figure of a young woman (KIRSTIE STEELE) and Emily begins to experience a night of sheer terror...I found The Haunted to be an excellent low budget horror film with a nice twist at the end. I enjoyed the style in which it was made. Although many of the rooms are in darkness, Emily has her mobile light to guide her and rather than distracting, I thought this was quite effective and greatly added to the creepiness of the film. Fear of the dark was a constant menace throughout. There was a small cast involved and the claustrophobic atmosphere was skilfully maintained during the 75 minute run time by Director DAVID HOLROYD, who cranked up the tension nicely for the final revealing scenes.Horror fans should find The Haunted a film worth watching!

Embarrassing
This was so awful it was embarrassing. I must admit when I realised it was an English horror my face dropped. I do prefer the American horrors mainly because they don't take themselves to seriously. That is not to say that there aren't some brilliant English horrors it's just my tastes restrict these to the Hammer Horrors which I absolutely love.Anyway, unfortunatley this horror was just what I expected a truly boring 90 mins or so with the lead actor wandering through a house with a torch - too dark for any viewer to get a look at anything - and a few white faced ghosts jumping out at her - the twist at the end? Don't what to spoil it for those who haven't got an evening washing their hair. but suffice to say other films have done it soooo much better. Best thing about it was that it wasn't a 2 hour long film!

Quite a formulaic narrative with a twist at the end
Creating a low build-up horror film is not easy. Everything has to work together perfectly to give the viewer that knot in the stomach feeling. Unfortunately this film doesn't succeed. It's disappointing because I wanted to like the film. There are some jump scare moments but nothing outstanding. The twist at the end could have been revealed in a much more subtle and smarter way I feel. I did watch bits of the movie again especially at the start and some of the scenes made a bit more sense.

OK but vague ending......
Watchable but abit unprofessional......if you dont want a spoiler dont read on but would a carer really chuck a altheimers gentleman down the stairs......??.......REALLY......and why.....vague storyline which I did not understand.....who was that other girl??......dead or alive??......dunno......totally in a fog of confusion.....anyone care to explain.....acting ok and its British but not the best at all.....

Lead actress Sophie Stevens was better than the film.
Lead actress Sophie Stevens was excellent, she deserved better and so do we Amazon Video.I wanted to like it but the jerky camera and perpetually in dark shadow walking around the house got a bit jarring after a time and to be honest I gave up, not a terrible film but one that could have fitted into half an hour I feel.

Half Decent Budget Horror
This was an OK budget UK ghost/horror film. It could do with better sound levels (if you've got good jump scares you don't need ear-bleedingly loud blasts of music, the scares on their own sound work fine). Could have worked on the atmospherics a bit more, the shaky cam was distracting. Not a bad way to wile away an hour or so.

Slow-burning perspicacity
A quasi-simpleton with a problem wanders round a labyrinthine house and stumbles upon an afterlife conundrum which enlightens her.

A decent enough watch...
A little slow at first but this was a decent watch with building tension and plenty of jump scares - I love this sort of haunted house horror, and this had a twist at the end which has been seen in other movies but was unique enough to not be predictable. Recommended!
