Defective
I used this as a backup and lost almost everything. I was switching from an old computer to a new computer with less storage. I figured I would use this flash drive to hold my files. It looked like it worked. It shows all my files. However, when I have gone back to open them, they do not open. I am very frustrated as I have lost a lot of files now.

AMAZON STOP SELLING THINGS YOU KNOW WON'T WORK
I gave this 5 stars for ease of use because it is extremely easy to use something that does not work. It does nothing, so you do nothing with it. What can be easier than nothing?I've bought a lot of too cheap USB drives like this from Amazon, hoping one day one of them would work. None ever has. Basically if it is too good to be true, then it isn't true, But Amazon shamelessly sells them anyway.Don't be fooled. Items like this LOOK as if they have the listed storage. This one even appeared to allow me to copy huge masses of data to it. There were no error messages! For a second even I, jaded as I am, having bought many similar junk drives thought maybe these actually worked. A few reviews, either planted or attached wrongly to this item, even gave me hope. They explained it was old tech, very slow... but WORKED! MAYBE THAT is why they could be sold so cheaply!NO, NO, NO. Somehow the devices managed to act as if they received the data and even showed all of the folders I had "copied" as if the data was all there. I opened the last fold (usually it is the later data that is corrupted or missing) and the data appeared to be there. But it didn't work right. Did I have some setting wrong in my software to use the data? I then opened another folder. Nothing was in it at all. Most of the folders that should have had data had NOTHING.I then used a special USB thumb drive formatter/tester, which immediately showed the volume to be corrupt. If there is a class action lawyer out there and this kind of abuse constitutes a cause of action, sign me up.Until then, I'll still occasionally buy new too-good-to-be-true products like this and return them when they don't work. I suggest everyone does it routinely. Then maybe Amazon will stop selling items they know can't possibly work.

Fail
I was moving files to a new computer and needed a high capacity drive to transport RAW and video files. The flashdrive did not comprehensively moved all of my files and constantly stalled making me check on the computer as it paused. This is problematic as I was moving 1000s of files and also by selectively copying certain files I was paranoid as to which files it was excluding. A lot of work of unnecessary checking for completeness and BTW those files were fine and not corrupted in anyways. I finally gave up and ordered a SANDISK drive and it worked perfectly fine with complete and intact file migration with no files left behind. If the price is too good to be true it is. Also since I ordered the 1 TB level it read 2 TB of space which should have been an indicator of the low quality of the item.

SLOW, slow, slow
I have a fairly large music collection and picked up this 1TB jump drive for a backup of my MP3 files. The drive works okay so far but is unbelievably slow! I have to admit that I share most of the blame for purchasing the drive as the slow read and write times are clearly posted on the Amazon sales page.According to the AJA speed test the write speed was 12 MB/Sec and read was 19 MB/Sec. This is 5 to 10 times slower than a decent jump drive. The test speeds of the unit I purchased meet the tested specs but I'd recommend against this drive unless it is for backups that you don't need quick access to. The Lexar drive I compared it to would read and write six times as fast.I've attached a copy of the speed test results for the 1TB drive against a 128Gb Lexar drive to illustrate my findings.
