High quality and protective
This sling feels very good, the material is good, all the zips and hard feel bombroof, no complaints at all really. I found the Ash grey version had nicer higher quality feeling material compared to the black which I had to return. This 10 litre model is big enough to fit a Samsung galaxy tab s8 ultra tablet perfectly in the tablet pocket, it would be a struggle getting anything even a single cm large in that pocket though. A macbook pro 16 inch laptop does not quite fit inside the main compartment its very close though, a 14 or 15 inch slender laptop would likely just fit I think. The only critism I have is that due to the protective fairly stiff build of the bag even when empty it does not squish down very much, but on the other hand ones gear feels really well protected inside.

Nice design, useful for my needs
Lovely finish and quality, nice and compact. Couple things I'd have really liked when comparing to previous similar bags I've used is a passport pocket on the rear of the bag rather than just front, and for a 13in laptop (I have a macbook) if you have stuff inside the bag, it can be hard going taking it in and out.

Photo camera bag
Bought the peak design bag because it’s a slim footprint but it still holds all the gear I need, plus it’s well made and water resistant too.

Random build quality, satisfactory performance
To put it bluntly, Peak Design products are sometimes over-engineered over-priced hardware, like their clunky Capture Clip and their disappointing backpacks. They also created astonishing products like their camera straps and wrist cuffs. In the case of this sling bag, I'd say it thankfully leans towards the latter category rather than the former, with a few caveats. The first one I received had very poor (as in very messy) stitching around the handle and several parts like the ends of the straps and the origami separators were already frayed... For a 150 pounds bag, this was unacceptable and I returned it and purchased another one. The second one was finally at the level of quality I should expect from such an expensive bag. I've had it for 3 months now, using it frequently for shooting and travel. Here are my thoughts:Pros:- Stylish! Unlike most camera bags out there, it doesn't shout "Hey, there is expensive camera equipment in there!" It looks like a minimalist shoulder bag without any over-branding. I like its clean lines and compactness.- Nice materials: the zips are very smooth, the quick-adjust system for the strap is genius (same system as their famous camera strap), the seatbelt-like materials for the strap and handle is a pleasure to touch.- It holds all my gear (Panasonic G9 with 2 lenses), including cleaning equipment, large battery pack and water bottle without any issue. Obviously your mileage may vary. It is great for a day out and as a travel bag.- It doesn't fall over when resting on a horizontal surface, which is often a problem on other bags. It has great rigidity and doesn't sag.- Compared to some other bags, it's not as wide, so it stays more flush against your body. However, this also means it can carry less gear comparatively.Cons:- The main inner compartment lacks lateral inner pockets (the 3L and 6Lversions do have them...). It's a strange design choice to remove that feature from the largest 10L model. It could certainly do with more organizational options. More on that below.- The inner zipped pocket lacks larger compartments. Its tiny memory card inner pockets are quite useless because they can only hold tiny items and cannot be closed... Some larger batteries and lens caps won't fit in them. You can quickly end up with a mess.- The padded strap could be thicker. If you keep a lot of glass in your bag, your shoulder might suffer after a few hours. My gear isn't particularly heavy, so I didn't feel any obvious discomfort so far.- The front pocket offer very limited depth and can only hold thin items if your main compartment is fully loaded.- The origami separators started to fray already... These are quite famous for having this issue, so it's disappointing that Peak Design hasn't decided to stitch them all around properly for this revision of the bag.- Bits of the stitching to indicate the height on the velcro sides came undone, although I only readjusted the separators once...- There is no rain cover. Most competitors offer a small compartment at the bottom that holds a waterproof cover and offers additional padding as a consequence when not in use. The zips aren't fully waterproof, so if the bag is stuck in heavy rain, leaking may occur through the zips.- The main material does feel robust, but it doesn't have a nice texture, and due to its roughness, it tends to strangely "stick" to certain other soft and fluffy fabrics (like wool and fleece).- The attachment system for tripods (or umbrellas) feels like an afterthought. I understand they want to have a minimalist and clean design, however.- It's very expensive compared to all of the competition (Manfrotto, Lowepro, Tenba, Tamrac, etc.). Their aggressive marketing is certainly a reason for that cost. I reckon 99 GBP would be a fairer price.- There is no external stretch pocket to hold a water bottle or an umbrella. A photographer on the move also got to drink... It's not just about camera gear!- The tags/label are very difficult to access and if you want to register your bag online for the lifetime warranty it can be a challenge... Why make it so difficult? Put those tags in the laptop compartment for instance.- There could be thicker padding at the bottom of the bag.- I wish there was a hidden pocket on the back to place important documents and cash. This type of secret pocket is quite common nowadays. All in all, I do like it for the most part: I tested several other bags in stores and this one offers the best compromise between looks and versatility, for my needs. It looks great and it's comfortable while carrying my fairly light gear. However the build quality can be a miss, and the price doesn't quite feel justified as a result. Maybe it's just teething problems on the production line. It's a very expensive bag, the most expensive one in this category, so you've got to expect the best build quality! The organizational options inside the bag are also quite limited, and I can imagine someone with a lot more bits and pieces than me could quickly end up with a mess. Also, because there is no external water bottle pocket, you end up wasting internal space if you're not a camel...There are still several possible improvements that can be made for the next version. We're not quite there yet, given the huge price tag.
