Like other reviewers, when I received these s-hooks I thought I may have mis-read the description - they looked and felt like plastic! I went back to see if that was the case - but it stated it was aluminum. I found that hard to believe. I also found it hard to believe these could hold up to 44 pounds - they definitely felt lightweight as the ad stated, but not heavy duty - as the ad stated. I wanted a small hook to hold hanging baskets. The baskets are very heavy at 14" across; I'm guessing they weigh about 35 pounds. I had my doubts these hooks would hold up but decided to test the material and strength - preparing to trash them when they failed - since they weren't worth returning. If these were plastic they would snap - aluminum, they would stretch. I hung the basket with this hook, expecting it to fail immediately. But it did not! I left it there for an hour - still fine. Then I began pulling the basket down - slowly. The hook began stretching - but never snapped. Well, they are indeed aluminum - and they do indeed hold a lot of weight! So, I decided to keep them - however, for safety's sake, I doubled up the hooks for each basket - just in case adding too much water pushed these lightweight hooks to their limit. My only complaint - thus 4 stars, not 5 - is that the ad states they are .2" wide; that's almost a 1/4" - which is what I was looking for. They appear to be closer to 1/8" thick - but they do the job - even better with 2 together for safety.

Holds cast iron pans & molds with ease. Fits 1/2" custom rebar rack perfecty. Knobs on ends look good, hold pots in place and are a great safety feature. Would buy again.

Did what I needed it to do. Now serves other purposes! Love these things. Very handy to have!

These are super cute. Take note of the size, they are small. I originally looked for longer ones and couldn't find in aluminum, so I got creative and I linked 3 of them together for my orchid that I hung and it actually looked really pretty like that. A new look that I will use again in the future for other plants. The look is different to, in that they are flat vs. rounded, but I really liked the look of them. I purchased because I am tired of my S hooks on my plants rusting, hopefully since these are aluminum they will not rust.To the Manufacturer: Consider making these in a larger size please because they are really nice looking.

Hi. So my first thought was that they were a little to light weight. Almost like a plastic feel. I also thought one side of the hooks was going to be bigger, but they are same size on both ends. They do the job after all. So hoping I don't have any that break or I will return and get some better ones. Picture I posted came out side ways I think. Sorry! Ha! But I used them as towel hooks on my towel rod. :) Very cute

These were bought to hang heavy potted plants. I need a hook that was short and had a slightly larger than 1" diameter on both ends. I read the full description where the seller indicated an individual hook would hold up to 40 lbs. Since I misjudged the diameter of the hook received, I found that I could easily change it with moderately arthritic hands. I do not believe it can hold up to 40 lbs. Since I've manipulated two of the hooks, I will keep the package and try to glue several together to increase strength.
