Great camera for $$, mount could be better
I use this primarily for video conferencing/zoom calls, but the picture quality is MUCH better than any of the inexpensive cameras my co-callers are using! My one complaint is the clip that mounts the camera to the top of your screen sucks - it doesn’t stay in place & it’s natural alignment wants to cut off my head about level with my nose!So I’ve jury-rigged it to mount on a little selfie-stick/ tripod I had. It would be nice if they included a way to SECURELY mount it to the monitor AND be able to adjust the angle of view.

Good camera, good microphone, medium quality mount... with a fix.
First of all, let me express my disappointment that Amazon doesn't give separate star measures for the two different aspects of these webcams. Is there a webcam that is just a webcam? I don't think so. I think every one of them also has microphone in it. Why not evaluate these as well? I have bought two webcams, the picture of which was certainly acceptable (one more so than the other), but both microphones were so muffled sounding as to be unusable, and they had to be returned. This one happens to have a really good microphone, and you need to know that. If you are looking for a webcam that can do a thorough job of presenting your self to your meeting partners or viewers in online meetings or conferences, then this will certain do that. I mark the camera down just a bit because the image is a bit "hot", it does well in dim light situations, but seems a bit too hot or almost bleached out when the light is brighter. The microphone, as I said, also works well. I have a bit of hearing loss in the upper frequencies so capturing the sibilants is very important to me. As I sometimes use the mic for recording, not just Zoom meetings, it really needs to capture the sibilants and other high frequency signals to maintain intelligibility, and this does not disappoint. One final note on the mount. I've actually bought two of these now, and both had the same problem. The hinge is too loose. So much so that during a meeting the camera will sometimes slide back and aim higher and higher. In one case a light bump on my desk actually caused it to fall of the back of the monitor in the middle of a meeting. It's not immediately obvious, but at the hinge point the little rubber covers are removable. Under the hex-shaped one is the nut, and under the round-shaped one is the screw. Gently remove the round one and with a small phillips screwdriver slightly tighten the screw so the there is more friction/tension in the joint. Just a quarter turn or so was all it took in my case, but it made the mount 100% stable now, where it was almost unusable before. The fact that they don't mention anything about this in the little guide that comes with it, and both of the devices I received had this same problem, tells me that they must be getting unnecessary returns for this problem, when the fix is as easy as that. When you've made your adjustment, the rubber cover still sticks back onto the top of the screw, and you're in business.Because of these couple of issues, the somewhat washed out video under brightly lit situations, and the tension of the mount hinge, I took a point off of my rating. All in all though, at least of the four webcams I've now bought, this one is completely satisfactory, and at a quite reasonable price.

VERY nice webcam, reasonably priced
Like a whole lotta people these days I found myself in quarantine with a need for a web cam. My HP laptop was equipped but I PREFERRED (didn't NEED) something better. This cam had the specs I want at an agreeable price. The ESTIMATED delivery time was a little disappointing, but I decided to take a chance. First, the delivery time changed - for the better - TWICE after I placed the order. It was finally SCHEDULED to deliver...tomorrow. So it still arrived a day early! So full marks to the folks at Amazon for that! The first thing I tried out of the box was to thread, ever-so-gently, the included tripod onto the camera. That was a no-go. As noted in several other reviews the threads are just not a good match. I tried using a proper 35mm camera tripod and it would not thread on either. This isn't important for me because the camera is where it will be, on top of my monitor. The adapter/brace/arm thingy, whatEVER, does a very nice job of keeping it on the top ledge of the monitor. It isn't heavy enough to even consider things like scratching the monitor and it is rubber lined anyway. So, mounting - very good. The camera is light and it is 'held' on the monitor by GRAVITY. So keeping this in mind, it's not going anywhere under normal use. It MAY get brushed off the monitor if someone is dusting carelessly around it.The camera is in a ball and socket mount. It moves easily, but not so easily that it will 'flop' around. If it's not level (or the monitor isn't) it's easy to adjust the camera in it's mount slightly to get it "right". This also applies to centering the subject (you most likely) in the middle of the frame.I plugged it into a USB port and fired up the WinX Camera app. I saw the camera light up and the next thing I saw was me - on screen. There ARE focus and brightness adjustments under advanced settings but neither was necessary. I had three desk lamps and overhead lighting on and I was very well lit.I tried snapping a still of myself and it did a very nice job @ 1920 x 1080.It arrived just in time for a WebEx video teleconference and when I joined, there I was. It used it's own internal mic to pick up my voice and used my Soundsticks to play audio from other meeting participants. IE, it worked right the first time with no settings or tinkering. It is truly plug and play. The sliding lens cover was an important (for me) included option and it works like the camera - as it should and easily.I have no reasons for any criticisms - on day 1. I would recommend both the camera and vendor highly.
