It got the stripped stud out
This tool has removed 2 studs in hard to reach places that other extractors could not. I stripped these studs (1993 Mazda RX-7, ~26 years old) and just needed them removed. The Performance Tool Stud Extractor was able to grab hold and eventually remove them. It is a 4 star review, not a 5 star review however because when removing the first stud the tool "broke," or rather I broke it? I must have over tightened and extended the chuck-style gripper too far because it now requires help to open and close correctly. Having said all of this, I was able to remove the second of the 2 studs even after I broke the tool. I see no reason why it won't continue to work, so long as I sort of realign the teeth as I tighten the chuck on the stud.Long story short, even with a small issue that I'm pretty sure I caused, I was able to remove 2 stripped and project blocking studs out with this tool. The tool saved me more money and time than it costs. I would purchase it again.

Not as described. Wrong size.
They did not work well at all. I was using the 1/2" size to try and get broken shower head pipe out of thread and was too small. Tried to wrap with several things to make a little bigger but would not work. Also little cam on it that locks it in came off around 4th or 5th try. Was able to just stick it back on but did not work well. I do maintenance for a living and this product is just not up to par. Maybe a one time use product if that.

Best stud remover I've ever used
I never write reviews, but I had to write this one - for all you shade-tree mechanics out there like me who never know whether a specialty tool is going to work as advertised. Well, this one does! I had three broken 3/8" studs on the collectors of my '99 Mustang's long-tube headers. To make matters worse, there wasn't enough clearance between the collector and the studs to even try one of the old-style stud removers. So I tried heat, a pipe wrench, a jam nut - you name it. As a last resort, I ordered this from Amazon, stuck it on my IR Thundergun impact wrench, cranked it up to max, and let it pound away. Before long, the stud began to back out, then sped up, and quickly came all the way out, without breaking and without damaging the threads. Amazing. I wish I'd had this years ago. It took five minutes to do what used to take forever. No welding, no drilling, no cursing, no sweat. If it had only lasted this one job, it would have been worth it.

Nice tool, it is a bit large but works really well
This thing is very well made and stupid easy to use. It really grips the stud tightly and works far better than channel lock pliers or two nuts. Its grip is so good that the stud either comes loose or breaks off. Advice; tighten it until if grips well and apply slow steady pressure, don't just jerk the wrench. Slowly increase the pressure is the best way to avoid breaking the stud off. As others have said, it is a large tool about the size of your half-inch drill chuck.

They don't seem to be made of especially strong material, but so far...
No issues so far but I've only used them on VERY light metal (looked like some kind of zinc alloy where the threaded nipple was broken off inside the pipe) and plastic. I can only attest to the fact that for the one particular application I bought them for, they, worked, "locked in," and I was able to remove the broken pipe nipple.

Easy to use, a bit hefty but works well
This extractor was larger than I expected but was a very efficient tool for extracting a broken stud that was only about a 1/4 inch length(and 8 mm diameter) sticking out of an exhaust flange. There was plenty of room to use the extractor in this instance. After applying some kroil to base of the stud I twisted the extractor tight on the stud and used a ratchet to unscrew the stud quite easily. I like that extractor. Luckily I did not follow my impulse to use a pair of locking pliers on the stud, which would have chewed it up without removing the stud.

Solved Issue in 3-minutes
Had a shower arm break inside the water pipe connection. Bought this extractor and took less than 3-minutes to get the broken part removed.Pros: Had no other tool to extract the broken pipe and this made the job easy; much cheaper than calling a plumber and did not damage the existing pipe.Cons: Since my first time using the tool, it did take a couple of time to get the tool to "grab" the broken pipe.

This thing is awsome. Had a broken exhaust manifold ...
This thing is awsome. Had a broken exhaust manifold flange stud. After heating the flange, I was able to remove the stud. I even used my impact on it. With all the heat and using the impact, it still works 100%.

D'aucune utilité
Il a cassé à la première utilisation et le retourner à la compagnie pour la garantie me coûterait plus cher d'expédition que d'en acheter un neuf, alors au vidange....n'achetez pas ça.
