The Sender: A Story About When Right Words Make All The Difference

I started reading this in a hard cover book and realized I wanted to highlight many areas, so switched to a Kindle book. The story pulled me immediately. My mother had breast cancer but did not have chemotherapy,so it was a learning situation. I can see why support is so important for many major illnesses, especially cancer. One needs a pep club who can encourage you during treatment.The letters incorporated the book were sent by Kevin Elmo to a personal friend who had cancer. They are very insightful and I will go back and review them many times in my life.

My husband wanted to read this book after attending a men's breakfast at church. He started reading and finished it in record time for him (generally he is a slow reader). He told me you got to read this. I was skeptical but, started reading the first few pages and was hooked. The story is about a person receiving about 90 letters over the time he is going through cancer treatment. The letters are priceless as well as their application. The writer gives nuggets of wisdom to make it through life's difficulties. Share it with someone you care about.Remember I am strong when you are strong!

An employee gave me this book to read and I downloaded it and did not read it for several months till flying on a trip and the internet was not working, so I decided to read. Amazing how God works sometimes to get your attention. After my read in one trip.....I purchased a copy of The Sender for my entire office for Christmas. It is not just about cancer, it is about life and what are you going to do with it. It is encouraging, directing and then it hands you the reality: "things do not always turn out the way you dream" Maybe they turn out the way they should so God can use you. Simply, because no matter who or where you in life... sometimes it is not just about ourselves. Amazing, thoughtful read. I have now given away 60 copies and just purchased 8 more books. I hope I am contributing to Kevin's best sellers list. Maybe he will come visit my employees one day! Thank You Mr Elko !

I was given this book by my sister because I am going through treatments -- not chemo but surgery & radiation. It was such an inspiration to me and I appreciated it tremendously. I since have purchased several copies and pass them on to people that are having to deal with cancer treatments and the mental anguish. It demonstrates the need to rely on your spiritual background and it inspires you to move forward.Who said life was easy? No one, but it is always easier when you share the burden with others.love, love , love this story and thanks to Dr. Elko for writing it.

I stumbled upon The Sender on Amazon and read the reviews and decided to grab a few copies thinking it would also make a great gift. When I started reading it, I could not put this book down and have since recommended it to several people and gifted it to several more. Do yourself a favor, read the Amazon reviews, then the reviews included on the opening pages at the beginning of the book and the short two page introduction. You will already be hooked. Get multi-dimensional life training you have never heard elsewhere. Learn how to escape your current thought processes which trap you in the rut you’re in. Learn how to get others out of the rut. Learn how to exceed your current idea of your ability in wherever you are in life. If you have cancer read this book. If you have a family member with cancer read this book. If you have a friend with cancer read this book. This is a great book! You'll rip right thru it. You’ll laugh, you'll cry but better yet- you'll be a better person and be able to know how to operate at much higher level in life with relationships, then tasks. (If you are from Alabama you HAVE to read this book. Local high schools are featured.....)
